Ok, so this may not "kill" the iPhone but finally the best cell phone provider has a nice flashy phone to along with it's great service. Here are the specs:

Exclusive to Verizon Wireless, the Voyager by LG sports a large external touch-screen and opens laterally to reveal a full QWERTY keypad, giving customers a choice on how they access the phone’s features. Sleek, stylish and shiny, the innovative LG Voyager comes packed with the hottest services to satisfy any mobile multimedia addict, including HTML browser, full V CAST-capabilities – including V CAST Mobile TV, V CAST Music, with the ability to play .mp3, .wma and unprotected .aac files, and V CAST Video. These capabilities, coupled with high-speed wireless broadband access, make downloading music on-the-go quick and easy. With all these features, for customers who purchase The Voyager by LG who want to download music, take pictures and do so much more than talk with this stylish device, there is a removable microSD memory slot that holds up to 8 GB of memory.

What are your thoughts? Do you think this has a chance against the iPhone?

So now 'we' have the iphone...I'm not certain I understand what the point was, oh well(s) w/e.

the more i look at this, the more i do think it's kinda cool

but all the moms will have it ... and that's not cool ... unless you like starting conversations with moms ... which is kinda cool

I'm glad that they labeled the shortcut menu so well. I simply did not know that those icons with text under them were shortcuts.

I'll wait to see what google ends up doing.

can you smear poop on it?

You can smear poop on anything...

i'll never buy a phone that doesn't have

1. the ability to sync with a PC for contacts, calendars, etc. (ever lose your phone and ALLLLL your numbers? well, i never have, but at least I know mine is backed up.).

2. an interface to run iSilo for...uh...reading. Trust me, when you're bored out of your mind somewhere in a doctor's office and can read some of that week's meeting material ... soo good.

Well if you have Verizon you will not have to worry about losing your contacts, ever.

please explain

Here it is Ian Backup Assistant Finally, you dont have to pay the $10 to transfer over your contacts...

iwz iwz ·

did you forget a link there, giac? or were you referring to mike's link?

also, i've transferred my contacts from phone to phone three times, and haven't had to pay $10 yet. they seem to just do it for free.

maybe when you walk in wearing your special helmet they feel bad and just do it for you...

englandkid englandkidOG 2003 ·

actually when I got my new phone, they told me there would be a $10.00 fee but after they did it they told me they would let the fee slide.

I hate being told what Phone company I hafta use. That's why I bought an unlocked Palm Treo GSM Quad Band. If only the iPhone offered a few more simple things like ability to use on whatever network I want... maybe I'd ditch the Treo. I actually could of got a sweet deal with Verizon - 1000 min. a month & unlimited texts for $10 a month... but I can't use the unbranded Treo on the network & switchable SIM... so what's the point... I opted to use T-mobile for a lot more money but a lot more freedom as well.

this isn't a smartphone, is it? if not-- then it's like my ENV, which i LOVE, but with a slick outer touch screen, more storage, and a way better browser? is that what's going on here? if so-- i'm definitely getting one, because this fixes all the problems i have with my phone.

it creates just one problem though. it doesn't appear to have a camera. my ENV has a great 2.0 mp camera and i use it a lot more than i thought i would.

g.f.s.rocks g.f.s.rocksOG 2001 ·

It does have a camera. The same camera as the EnV (2.0 mp)... It looks like it is the same design as the EnV except for the touch screen in front...

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

yeah, i ended up doing a buncha research. i want it and i think i might get it right away. though i haven't seen any info on data plans yet, so who knows? expensive data plans make me itch.

g.f.s.rocks g.f.s.rocksOG 2001 ·

I wonder if they wont make you purchase a data plan. It's possible they will just make you pay for the $5.00 a month web access. That would be really sweet. I think Im going to get this phone as well when it comes out.

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

oh, goodness, if that's how it goes, i'm there.

g.f.s.rocks g.f.s.rocksOG 2001 ·
