The INCREDIBLES

malibu by malibuOG 2001 · Nov 9, 2004 · 234 views · ·

so the theater is full of a million children under 10. the movie begins and there is a popcorn that drops in the back. the movie begins and it is rockin!!! the characters are so much fun and the storyline of what happens to this family is just as good as the good movie created around the fact that there is a world that is dependant on children's screams for power (monster's inc.) i don't wanna give anything away but it is a good movie. i love edna!!! be on the watch for her. reccommended and any little children you know, bring them with you. they'll love it!!!

annalisa started doing this incredible thing where she imitates edna soo good and it's hysterical!!! she gets her face all into it. "what are you going to do??!!?? pull yourself together girl!! you are elastigirl, you will fight you will WIN!!!" at the end she goes into this strongman stance with a crazy face. its great.

great movie. the short in the beginning was funny too.

sunshyne sunshyneOG 2004 ·

our cousins went to see it at the vineland drive in last night. then uncle called to tell me how great it was and how i should go post haste. i was like thanks for inviting me.

forrestina forrestinaOG 2002 ·

no movies with them trust me. do you not remember Rockadoodle? total nightmare. I got in a lot of trouble bc Brendon was making noise with his straw and I snapped-snatched it and threw it down the aisle.

sunshyne sunshyneOG 2004 ·

i didnt see rockadoodle with them. i saw el dorado with them. that was awful.

forrestina forrestinaOG 2002 ·

i blocked that one from my memory. i didn't like that movie either.

This movie was fantastic. I've got some issues with the Fantastic Four rip-offs... but I guess they're just similar.

Super powerFantastic FourThe Incredibles
Elastic Shape-ShiftingMr. FantasticElastigirl
Invisible and Force FieldsInvisible WomanViolet
StrenghtThe ThingMr. Incredible

it's not perfect, there's no Dash in the Fantastic Four, but they do have the Human Torch. But there is even a baby in the Fantastic Four's family with unknown powers (at least for a few years) who turns out to have amazing powers later on (i.e. Jak-Jak in the incredibles). And Ben Grimm isn't related, just a close friend, but Mr. Fantastic(Reed Richards) and the Invisable Woman(Sue Storm Richards) are married.

I don't know what to think of the similarites. "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery"? Was it an homage to the FF? Or a rip-off?

way to over analyze, trying to take the position of supreme nerd from ian?

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

homage to superheroes. surely.

sunshyne sunshyneOG 2004 ·

i think there arent very many super powers that are different. i mean basically youve got: speed/flying, vision stuff, fire/freezing stuff, strength/flexibility...what else is there?

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 ·

Magneto has one of the best ever- control of magnetic fields. So different yet crazy powerful.

deanh77 deanh77Founder ·

I think you've got a lot to choose from, and thats what I found odd, that they picked almost the exact same ones.
I just thought it was a little *too* similar to the Fantastic Four, thats all. Two superheroe families with the same powers. If they had different powers I wouldn't say anything, or even if it was a group that had similar powers, but weren't a family. Even the invisible one was both invisible AND had force fields (just like in FF). I guess only people who read the FF comics would really understand what I'm saying. I liked the movie. I'm not hung up on this, I just wonder what Marvel Comics thinks.

i was really happy that they didn't make anybody be able to fly. i mean people always say flying and it is cool but i liked the fact of what they gave them.

deanh77 deanh77Founder ·

yeah, I liked the fact that they all seemed vulnerable. no Superman types, with limitless power. even Mr. Incredible got cut. that was cool.

when Dash was inside Violet's sphere and ran so they could use it as a battering ram, I thought that was pretty inventive.

deanh77 deanh77Founder ·

oh yeah, haha. I almost forgot another similarity. the Moleman guy at the end. classic Fantastic Four villain.

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

Yes, I saw that too.

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

I agree. They are quite a BITE. But some people aren't ready for how inventive superhero powers have become. Especially the little kids. We had the Thing, Invisible Girl, Mr. Fantastic, Iceman, Quicksilver/Flash. Those combination of powers allowed for seriously innovative and stunning action sequences while remaining within what powers the kiddies are used to seeing. It was easy to swallow and I thought it worked well. I'm glad they didn't have any flying characters. Good eye.

I took my kids to see it last Saturday. I was giggling with glee because the new Star Wars trailer played before the movie. I'm still drooling over what I saw. The Emperor uses a light sabre! How much sweeter does it get!

malibu malibuOG 2001 ·

see!! i knew the new star wars trailer was supposed to play during it, but when we went to see it, they didn't play it. i was soooo upset. i thought maybe i was crazy in thinking thta they were supposed to.

Tyler and Adam went to see this last weekend, and despite the fact that it's over 2 hours long, Tyler loved it and cracked up the whole time. I plan on taking him this weekend, since Adam's gonna be out of town. MY TURN!!!!
