W-W-W-Weezer. check the video for El Scorcho! by Mark Romanek! VERY cool stuff. http://markromanek.com/video/17.html
Wait..like if I click that it won't be the normal video for el scorcho?
i checked the weezer site and it appears to be the same one. i just never saw it before. thought i'd share. love the director.
Yeah..it's a great video. Um..but you have it mentioned in the thread subject.
yeah, when i wrote it i still hadn't seen it. and it said El Scorcho [directors cut]. i thought it'd be different for some reason. oh well.
WHITE STRIPES
The Hardest Button to Button
Less than Jake : Science of Selling Yourself Short... soo funny, katie thinks its kinda boring, but i LOVE it!
decided---linkin park "faint"
its them on stage but the camerea is put behind them and there are these huge lights blaring in your eyes and you see the whole crowd and the preformerers but its only silloute and you feel the surge of the crowd and feel your heartbeat pulsing with the music. just one of the most amazing videos i've ever seen. i just replay it all the time just to get a surge in my veins. amazing stuff!!!
That's quickly becoming my new favorite song on the radio..I love the violins soo much.
i can't agree with you two more. sincerely. the song is awesome. not a second too long, not second too short. it's a total blast. and the violins. perfect. it's among my favorite vids done by the director i always pimp here--mark romanek! cheers!
I also enjoy the "Stacy's Mom" video by Fountains of Wayne.....Joking
MONEY FOR NOTHIN- Dire Straits (1985)
it was meant to poke fun at MTV but it ended getting played to death on it!!
...leaving opportunity for one of the better (i think) weird al parody videos (which turns out to be a parody of a parody)
the best weird al video/song ever was amish paradise
I love wierd al! Hes so incredably funny. His words fit so perfect to the songs he paradys. The first one I ever heard was.....*Another One Rides the Bus* (Queen). I almost died laughing.
The Roots have a video for a song entitled "What They Do"...They're what you could categorize as hip-hop, but, they, as a opposed to most, actually inject art into their muisc. The ENTIRE video is composed of rap-cliche satire, poking fun @ all the commonly seen scenes in rap videos, it's awesome paradox, rap, making fun, of rap. I was amused by this. There'll be like say, a guy surrounded by girls in a hot tub, swinging their "crystALLL", and then, commentary, in big black letters goes accross the screen saying "Keeping It...REAL...????"..
go withthe flow by queens of the stone age is off the hook best video this year just for the effects alone.
i totally agree. that video is completely amazing. i just sit there and watch it with my mouth open. catching flies. for three minutes and nine seconds. amazing stuff.
Radio Head- There, there
It reminds me of some child hood dreams i've had
Isn't it radiohead not radio head.....nevermind (shut up ukrainium)
NO
YES OR I'LL BEAT YOU
NO
YES
NO
THATS IT!!
That's mildly disturbing. Cut that out yo.
aww man, its hilarious though, when he goes on like this for hours, and gets convulsions.....oh man, its pure hilarity
Do you stick a washcloth in his mouth so that he doesn't accidentally bite off his tongue?
finally saw coldplay's video...how'd they do that?
Good question. i'll do some research.
exxxxxxxxcellant
you mean for the scientist? Thats an amazing video...chris memorized his lines backwards i heard...and then they just reversed the tape.
she's right. i read up on it a bit. if you look it's not a very good lipsych, but it's extremely commendable for a backwards dealy. they also used special backwards rolling mags, film-wise, because you lose quality when you run film backwards. cool stuff. it was VERY well done. but i like BRAND NEW's video for 'the quiet things that no one ever knows' has a more than slightly similar video. and it doesn't use fancy backwards nonsense and it still holds GREAT weight. good stuff.
The new LIMP BIZKIT video for 'Eat You Alive' is really good actually. fred durst directed it too. he's david finchers protege and it shows. AND he's got an extremely good looking THORA BIRCH in it. she's my FAVE! the song isn't bad either.
its sad cuz i see music visually so when i like the video i really love the song but when its dumb i just can't like that group cuz i don't feel they were creative enough if they didn't come up with a cool video.
no use for a name - the video for "dumb reminders"
Nickelback's Too Bad - I heard the song for the first time as I watched the video (which I typically hate doing, because the vid usually poisons the well), but it reinforced the intensity of the song.
Clash- Rock the Casbah
Yes-HOLD ON,
Yes-Owner of a Lonely Heart
(get VH1 classic channel)
i can't believe you people have time to watch music videos, go on ezabel, AND study. oh, and play video games. see, something has to give there, so I sacrificed anything having to do with MTV. I have no idea what the Real World is (or why anyone cares), what Radiohead is doing with trees in the forest, or anything else.
good for you!(I mean it) I block MTV and only have VH1 and the classic VH1.
i like McG...see the VMA's?
Coffee and TV - Blur
ohh yeah my favorite blur song, i love the little milk carton, so funny and cute
Well, I'd have to say that I just love Britney Spears Lucky video.
PETER GABRIEL - Sledgehammer
WHITE STRIPES - Seven Nation Army
SOUL COUGHING - Super Bon Bon
WEEZER - Buddy Holly
FATBOY SLIM - Weapon of Choice
..and basically all of the THEY MIGHT BE GIANTS music videos. They always have the coolest concepts in their videos.
there's other coo ones too that exist, but these are ones that come to mind right now.
Sledgehammer is a way cool one. pretty nutty stuff for the time. and Weapon of Choice is an INSTANT classic. Spike Jonze is another of my favorite video directors. Christopher Walken is a...i don't even know how to put it. i love that guy. and Fatboy Slim is among my favorite artists. perfect recipe.
I'd definetly agree that Spike Jonze really knows what he's doing.
