Best and worst movies of the millenium
Here is my list of movies that I've seen since the year 2000 and their rankings in my book. It's amazing how much time and money I've spent on movies in the past 5 years. A few have been left off the list so as not to offend. If you're offended by this list, I'm offended by you. Oh and by the way, don't bother posting your lists for me to read... Because I don't care. LOL.
The Key
The Excellent: These movies either lived up to or surpassed their expectations. I walked out of this movie totally satisfied and happy I had seen it. I probably own this movie on DVD now and quote from it pretty often.
The Pretty Good: These movies were decent, but probably didn't completely live up to the hype or the expectations I had set in my mind from the previews. Still not bad, probably quotable.
The So-So: These movies either weren't meant to be much in the first place, or were slightly disappointing. Possibly entertaining at times, but not particularly memorable, and probably not a movie I would watch twice. Mike Schiano probably owns these on DVD.
The The Pretty Bad: These movies were complete busts, major disappointments, had gaping plot holes, or were just plain old lame.
The Out and Out Bad: These movies are the train wrecks of the list. Most of them are very quotable, just because of how utterly horrible they are. Jesse Tamburri probably owns these on DVD.

matty, why don't I see "Kung Pow" on this list yet?
added. I think that movie couldve made BOTH the excellent and out and out bad categories, lol
I think you are right. From a plot standpoint--out and out HORRIBLE. From a comedy standpoint, where plot wouldn't matter--it's genius
I saw this movie for the first time the other day and I think it will moslt likely be that last as well. There were some funny parts but I think if I watched it again I totally wouldn't find it funny.
you need to watch it with us. you need to let your rage be like a monkey in a pinata, hiding with the candy, hoping the kids don't break through with the stick! cough cough cough!!!
Is this the one with the cow and the Matrix spoof?
Yeah that's the one.
That part is probably one of the dumbest parts. If you can make it through the very beginning, and then this part, you'll should be able to enjoy the movie. (I admit that I don't even think this part is that bad, now... But I remember when I first saw the commercials, I thought, "how pathetic".)
yeah, that made me NOT want to see it. the cgi stuff was gay, but the dubbed stuff was so great!
master payne, its such an honor to have you beating random people in our town! especially that defenseless guy over there
i like when he put the squirrel in his outfit to block that dudes killer punch. and the squirrel is all smashed and the guy says "my end of the bargian, little friend." and he drops some nuts on him. nuts that he bought earlier. a scene that i thought made no sense. i was like "Ohhhh, BAHAHA, makes perfect sense now"
THATS A LOTTA NUTS!!!
meet the parents....one of the most amazing comedies EVER
"how can you say that, that cat has been like a brother to you!"
lol... i love it
added 2 new movies: unbreakable and bandits
Unbreakable totally deserves to be in the excellent column. It was such a good movie.
yeah i thought so too! very different, very cool.
unbreakable is one of my favorite movies EVERRRRR so good
the part where the guy elijah fell down the stairs... me, my dad, and my brother all cringed violently and were like "ohhhh noooooo!!!"
YEAH
definitely one of my favorites. it was originally intended to be a trilogy, but it didn't pan out. i'd love to see future installents, thought it doesn't seem likely. i love the part when his son is like:
son: "can you beat up bruce lee?"
dad: "no."
son: "i mean, if you knew karate."
dad: "no, joseph"
son: "what if he wasn't allowed to kick and you were really mad at him?"
dad: "no."
lol...i liked that too. wow, that wouldve been cool as a trilogy. i liked it because it was on the brink of being a superhero movie, but not quite... very different and cool
woah...you have like a really good memory when it comes to cinema..i've seen just about all of these movies..but forgot half of them where ever made
okay i wanna add one to the pretty decent list. dirty dancing havana nights. we watched this yesterday while doing chores. the plotline stinks but the dancing is soooo cool. all i can think about now is buying the soundtrack. and how ugly is the boy? but at some point in the movie you start to love him and that made it good. yeah it is a chick flick though. nothing quotable in it excpet "okay i be the girl". but i liked it.
you can't add to the list! It's matt's list, not yours. Make your own best and worst movies of the millenium. *cringes as he realizes what he's done*
wow. when did you get soo mean?
aw, Julie, I'm not trying to be mean, I'm just saying, you can't pee in other people's pools. Only they can. Not you. Not me.
Please add Alien v. Predator to both the "out and out bad" and the "Excellent" columns.
really? both??
ahahaha it was SO BAD it was almost good
What are you talking about, that was a good movie.
Worst movie EVER: Cool As Ice
was it more so than "glitter"?? haha
who's in that? never heard of it.
Vanilla Ice, who else? lol
hence the name....HAHAHA
Wing Commander is a real bad movie.
Musta been, never heard of it...plot?
It's all about how Vanilla Ice and how he moved out of the city into a suburb and wanted to date this girl but her family was against it, REASONABLY! Anyway, they basically snuck out to ride his motorcycle and make out all night. Me and Bri rented it back in '92.
i have seen this movie more than once unfortunately.
One question. Why would you subject yourself to that once let alone more times than that? lol
boredom
Yes, you're on to something. I think we slept in the next morning and watched it again! I used to do that alot. It was either that or more summer re-runs of Perfect Strangers and Who's the Boss.
U need2drop dat zer0..and git wit a HERO
lol So shameful...
i thought paycheck was really good. "what time is it? it's time to go. " oh it's go time. "gotta go."
I liked it too. Maybe I need to see it again. I hate Ben Affleck(sp?) but, somehow he didn't ruin this movie for me.
Hate is a very strong word my son LOL I can just pop in at any moment it's great ... a total power trip.
Paycheck was definately well written, I'm a big Uma fan (since 12) so I enjoyed this.
yeah, I like the Um-meister.
there were just way too many plot holes for me to enjoy this movie at all. way too many
yeah. i didn't like either one of the main characters but i just found it to be a really good movie anyways.
jesse tamburi is my idol
America's Sweethearts is the greatest movie ever made. I laugh for hours over that.
yeah i liked that one, cusack, c'mon he's great
john cusack is one of my favorite actors too, he's awesome
i'm thankful for the trees...
btw, your Schiano and Tamburri references killed me bro hahaha
X-Men 1 Would rate a bit higher in my book
Yeah I totally agree with that. It was so much better than so-so.
you haven't seen Spiderman 2?
Not yet!! maybe that's what I'll do tonight...
Hmm I agree with most of your choices. However, I haven't seen any of the Out and Out Bad ones, and hardly any of the "Pretty Bad". Thank you for the warning
Awwwww... Duplex The Pretty Bad, really? The Excellent Meet the Parents, definately agree there ;-)
I'd put Duplex in my "Pretty Good" list
lol, i think it was partly that i went in expecting different. I usually love ben stiller movies... i have to stand by my ranking
duplex was stinkin terrible!!!!
oh man, and envy! geeeze!!! that was even worse. i walked out.
i really didn't like either, but i found envy more bearable. i didn't care for along came polly either
