Next eZabel Lan Party
by So we may have some issues as far as location of our next lan party. I need some suggestions on other places this can be held! anyone have any ideas?!

After playing unreal for abit on the comp.. playing halo on the xbox is so hard. i couldn't get used to the inverted controls again. well i hadn't played xbox in nearly a year.

I have UT 2004, not Halo though (have it for xbox). No laptop, PC, couldn't afford a laptop with the power I want. Heh, can't afford a PC with the power I want, but it works nicely.

hmm... well i was thinking in the next few weeks... i can HAVE it... but it would have to be on a Friday or Sat.... and im gonna try to keep it to around 10 people... this means REAL gamers.. not guys who want to just bask in my presence... if so.. you are just gonna have to wait in line with the rest!!!
why don't we have some people over someone else's house, and play over the internet against evreyone?
cause its very laggy that way, and it adds to the lan party feel to have everyone all around, ie trash talking and throwing occasional chips... what do you suggest oh mysterious one...
why don't we run a REALLLLY long lan cable from your house to ian's house, put everyone on speakerphone, and do the trash talking that way?

All depends on what type of games you're playing. I prefer most FPS on PC's over consoles. But I'm pretty good on xbox with Rainbow Six: 3.
i cant stand trying to strafe and aim with a controller, im horrible at it... well, im horrible at halo too on a pc, soo lol

Really you can't beat keyboard and mouse in any aspect of the game. In general targeting and movement becomes so much easier and more defined. I'm personally not great with analog controllers.
I guess like anything you get used to it in time. The new dual analog controllers make it easier then the old style controllers. I agree that a FPS is better on a keyboard and mouse, but after playing games like Medal of Honor, Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon, and Halo I'm pretty used to a controller setup too.
I don't know I tend to prefer the analog controller of a console system to having to use a mouse and a keyboard. I just find having to use the 2 together to be annoying.
The only thing I found annoying was switching to using ASWD to move around over the arrow keys. But I'm really used to it now and it makes it so much easier to hit spacebar to jump or shift to duck.
The more you use it the more you get used to it.
Yeah maybe that's my problem I just don't play enough computer games.
my friend using arrow keys for movement... he has the most wacked out game playing setup i have ever seen, i HATE when he changes em around, cause then when i get on im all screwed up, haha

What about renting a hall?
hmmm i havent considered this... how much? any ideas? what about locations? and what games and equipment... do we have everything we would need?
Not sure on prices, all you'd need is to find a KoC or Polish Home or maybe a fire department rents a hall. You'd have to transport TV's for the xbox though. :(
Or if you go cheap way, does someone have a large drive way or decent back yard? You could rent a tent to cover everything from glare and rain.
hmm thats a REALLY good idea... i think we should explore this option of tent and such...
problems with a tent--running the power safely so that no one trips (same for network cables). There might not be enough extension cords or outlets for all the power we would need.
Easily resolved if everyone brings an extension cord and a roll of duct tape. There are several ways to run wire safely but you will always have that one person that trips. If it's done right you could even run the wires under just about all the tables.
problem with renting a hall - no internet connection (in case emergency patches are needed)
we could always back up updates onto a cd to pass around or store on someones machine for such instances...

lol no, our downstairs neighbor complained that i have too many parties and that we are too loud.... i smacked the wench and sent her packing... but now we gotta figure something else out... haha.. no really we cnat really be loud after 11... and i wanna have a hardcore party and i have a feeling it will last longer than that. I mean we can still have it here... i just wanna see if there are any other places.
