Life Goes Fast

g.f.s.rocks by g.f.s.rocks · Jun 27, 2003 · 209 views · Journal

Can you believe how fast our lives are changing? The person we were 4 years ago isnt the same person we are today. For some the person we were last year isnt the same person today. What makes someone change? Is it because something drastic happend in their life that made them think to change? Or is it just all part of growing up, getting mature? For some it seems like they never grow up. They stay the same age mentally, yet look older physically. What do you think?

ahhh, yes. existential speculation. as the bloom of youth swallows us all in it's tempestuous swirling maw. despair! despair!

ok Shakesphere....in other words, getting old sucks!
(oops sorry if that word isn't appropriate)

it all depends on the person's background, environments, and who their influences were. and part of maturing has to do with learning from mistakes. like for me, i can't believe i'm already learning how to drive. i can't believe some of my friends are dating and planning marriage already. i can't believe i'm gonna be graduating high skool same time around next year. the list goes on

time does fly, but dont hold to tightly to the age factor. you could act as old as you need to and a yong as you need to. the reason why you change is completely based on the fact that we are all learning so much about ourselves and how we handle things. cause life is a massive learning process. and maturing is putting what you learned to good use

i have come to hate change. people growing up and changing from what i remember them as and who we used to be. but i agree with carl. its who we are surrounded by more often and also learning more about yourself that makes you so different. its a necessity but i dont like it.

Also as u get older, time goes by so much faster, before u know it ur facing old people stuff like high blood pressure, cancer, etc. Thank GOD (and I mean it) for the hope of the new system.

That is so true, I would never want to see myself in an old peoples home...but thats what the witnesses were saying in the 70's, the greatest thing is that we know either way, if we do get that old or not, that we will still be able to enjoy the new system!

Yea, true. I was probabey your age in the 70s. I never thought I have kids, let alone have any. Now one is almost 21, and she's falling away to the world. =(

Im sorry to hear about that... It's interesting growing up with all witnesses, you never really took the commandment written at 1 Cor. 15:33 so seriously until you have seen loved ones fall away. Friends I had that were close to me, that have turned to the world truly hurt so bad, but the account that Jesus mentioned about the Prodigal Son allows a sense of hope that they may return back. But of course turning to Jehovah for the strength and the endurance to get through these tough times will be the only thing that can sustain us.
