craziness
So I've been on the job hunt because my company will not provide me with insurance benefits and I've been careful not to rule anything out at this point. Later today I go on an interview at verizon wireless (i'll let you know how that goes).
Here's a funny thing though, I've been doing all these online applications for jobs and nobody's been getting back to me. Except for one today, and the job? Graphic Artist... hmmm, so I applied for a job in a field which I have no training, no experience... no background whatsoever really, except that I know a few friends who are graphic designers... So what should I do... Email the person back and say that I'm really not a graphic designer and look like a complete idiot. or.... Throw together a portfolio and pursue the job hoping that I can somehow fake my way through it?
what to do, what to do...

maybe you should say that you are a licensced graphic designer and that your name is jesse tamburi...and you love GTIs! just a thought.
lol... maybe i'll just brainwash jesse, make him get the job and make them think he's me, and i'll kick back and drink lemonade while he pays my bills
that's a good plan...let's see what we can do here...
I say put some stuff together and go for it. From my personal experience and observation of friends, companies like fresh young minds coming on board. No fear!
I didn't have any experience in the type of job I just started. It's all about an impressive (exaggeratted?) resume and great interviewing skills. The man that hired me admitted that the firm was looking for someone more qualified, but said that I really impressed him and made him believe I could do the job. You can do it too!
thanks di!
matt where is my thanks for comment #7 ??
fine! thanks brandon. thanks for nothing.
why dont you get me that job and become a garbage man or a drag queen?
I'll be in drag... I've always wanted to work side-by-side with you.
matt you should move to an island and sell coconuts during the day and at night.. play the keyboard
I'd say go for it if it wasn't for the fact that the people working there are professionals and, unless you have some natrual nack for graphic design, your portfolio might give away your inexperience...like, look around at different graphic arts firm's websites, look@their portfolio's, & if you think you can match their work, go right ahead, that'd be awesome for you if it worked(do you have adobe photoshop?)
or a mac?..graphic artists are all mac-happy, they despise the PC
