Without Purpose You are Nothing

I remember thinking to myself many years ago that
as each minute passes by in my life I become different, maybe even new. I am never the same for I am
constantly learning and growing. Not necessarily good or bad, just different. They say people change and that People aren't what they used to be. But I disagree.

I realize that all (or a lot) of my memories are still with me and I really am a multitude of people. I am the 8 year old pimp in 3rd grade and realized girls are different, that i'm different. I am the 12 year old who got hit by a car, I am the the worker of a multitude of jobs... I am me. But I am more than "just" me. I have had broken hearts, I have had successes, failures. And realized not to just dweel. I had to be a doer. And I've told other people that
they must do the same thing. BE A DOER.

What what.

We completely change every 7 years. So the person you are at 21 is like three times changed over. weeeeeeee.

but they are still the people of the past... it's still part of them

we may feel we're thru with the past but the past is never thru with us. as much as we think we change--we still retain literally everything we experience since we literally are just bundles of sensory organs and crude and complex data compilation networks. we change because we can develop what feels like a mastery over our actions and behavioral trends and the thinking that governs these. not because we truly change, but because we think denial and purging an experience from our growth process is the true way to deal with it and thus continue to grow. i think we should embrace every experience we have, good or bad, and be the true sums of the lives that we've lived, only then can true change take place. the worth and appreciation [opposite of depreciation] of our lives should show nakedly in our every interaction. hiding behind the multitude of shields and vain masks we construct for ourselves dehumanizes us and those with whom we interact. as a side note: i like that the 'valenti girls' have the guts to display their problems and feelings for us all to see. i respect that very much.

wow i had no idea appreciation was the opposie of depreciation. haha

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003

word. look it up. it's not the most used definition of that word. but i was looking for a word that was the opposite of depreciate and thats what came up. i was like, "ohohoh," kinda sounded like a frenchman

hahahaha....dude, no matter how serious you try to be, your statements still have at least a thin coating of obscure-humor to me, lol, but, yeah, this is an epiphany we all have I think, that we're changing while retaining pieces of our development...

thats too bad. one of my kids was also hit by a car at 13, got thrown 10 feet. just scraped up but brought to the hospital for observation. now she suffers from back pain, which I think is related. shoulda sued, it was the drivers fault.

ok4now #6.1.1.1 ok4nowOG 2002

statute of limitations over? i thought it starts from the time you discover injury.

starshiptrooper starshiptrooperOG 2003

like DUMMIES we signed something that said when shes 21 we cant sue anymore.

ok4now ok4nowOG 2002

yeah, but what did SHE sign?

malibu #7 malibuOG 2001

this is why i hate change. i love the me that got straight As and helped all the other kids. i hate the me that is now too stupid and has to work really hard for those grades and can't help others for fear of telling them something wrong.

i love the me that danced in the rain for 5 hours straight and did 132 cartwheels in a row (that only ended cuz i hit a tree)

i hate the fact that the change from then to now makes me different and i'm going to continue to be more different as time moves on.

i would love for it to be black and white and when people think of me they could immediately know what they think cuz i'll always be the same and the way i want to be and have to hear people say "no, they're a lot better now. they've changed."
its so stupid. anyways, thanks for the vent.

malibu #7.1 malibuOG 2001

one last thing. i hate the fact that although i'm a doer i have no plan. need to get one of those.

ophelia #7.2 opheliaOG 2003

you did 132 cartwheels, in a row?...you're like the bionic woman or something..I dunno if I can do one in row

malibu #7.2.1 malibuOG 2001

hahahah. that was one of my crowning achievements. i still hold competitions with all my little sisters just to see if they can ever beat my records.

ilikebirds #7.2.1.1 ilikebirdsOG 2002
