On Why I Hate Garage Sales

yodasucka by yodasucka · Oct 18, 2003 · 156 views · · · Spastic

So, I haven't written a journal in a while... so I decided its about time I wrote one. When I first wrote the title, I wrote "on way" again.. but I saw it and changed it... haha

Today, my mom had this garage sale, she basically took my childhood outside and sold it for 50 cents.. it was very depressing... all my cool toys... gone... to some stupid child who will break them and not understand the true value of it all... it makes me very mad...

Garage sales are so retarded... its like "heres some of my old junk, its dusty and broken, but why don't you take it home? i'll even charge you to take it"... whats up with that? Like for real life, who does that?

Also, the one really cool thing was this huge doll house. My dad built it for me and my little sister, it was the best thing ever! It was as tall as me (yea ok I know thats not that tall, but for a doll house, come on thats huge!). and my dad made all these little rooms and the roof came off so you could reach inside... and me and my lil sister painted it ourselves. It was so cool. And lemme tell you how no one bought it! Yo, they're like "O let me take this old stuffed animal, its missing an arm but at least its not that cool doll house" .. man some people are stupid...

Yeah, forreste called me cause you had some pedestal type thing or something, she thought I'd like it since I have that pedestal fetish... woulda came over, but I'm half dead....I wonder if your mom had any expectations of making anything CLOSE to a profit....Guess it's just way of getting rid of a buncha stuff so you don't have to move w/it

actully, they did make a pretty ok profit, well for dusty old crap lol, i think she made like $150 or sumthing but still, she sold my childhood!! i am not happy

ophelia opheliaOG 2003 ·

yo why is your mom so insensative?..that's insane...like she HAS to know that these things she's selling mean something to you..that just don't make sense

forrestina forrestinaOG 2002 ·

i did save the lamp you'll have to paint it and get a shade if you want to keep it tho cus the speckled paint is definitely not your style.

ophelia opheliaOG 2003 ·

worrrrrrd UP....thanks for saving it!..I could use another lamp in my room...& yeah, me & speckle never got along so I'd definately paint it

I want to redesign my room a million different ways. One way would be dark purple walls and lamps everywhere!

I was never a doll house girl, I was a barbie dream house girl. But if my pizza making dad would have built me a doll house, I'd keep it. Things like that have sentimental value...even if they sit in the attic. That's the kind of stuff you take a look at on a rainy day. Wow, that sounds like something you'd see in a family channel movie.

i had a dollhouse...and i loved it...but my dad didn't quite finish it...it was missing the roof...on the walls werent glued in....so they would fall sometimes...but on the bright side, i could move the walls around to reshape the inside of the house.

yodasucka yodasuckaOG 2003 ·

well yea its great to have it for sentimental value and all.. but its too big, it doesn't fit any where... plus its not something i had all my childhood, he only built it like 6 years ago or so lol

i'm not really sentimental at all, i think if you don't use it, don't save it. I just hate garage sales cuz i can't stand garage sale people all wandering around my yard.

forrestina forrestinaOG 2002 ·

i love the people who slow down to look as they go-i wanted to run over to their car and bang on the window. and also the people who spot us after they've passed and quickly throw it in reverse to come look through our old junk!
