Tour of America

malibu by malibu · Nov 17, 2003 · 245 views · Ask eZabel

i want to take a road-trip at the end of this year. planning has been going on for some time now but now the time comes down to picking places that we really wanna go. we have a few in mind (new orleans, biggest roller coaster, yellowstone, rt. 66) just tons of things that we plan on doing. the only problem is that we just cannot think of enough things to do.
it's basically just a tour of america. we will end up bakc home after going through the country. but i wanted to know if there were any cool, crazy places people have been or even heard about that look interesting to go to.

p.s. i think there is a little boat trip planned for sailing into puerto rico to play in the phosphorescant water.

there's that biggest ball of rubber bands somewhere. That's stupid, but might be interesting.

flomojopoanode #3.1 flomojopoanodeFounder

While you are at it, go visit Intercourse, PA. Nice place. (Actually I've never been there.)

ekulu #3.2.1.1 ekuluOG 2002

funny...that's in amish country, right?

T
toxicgirlOG 2003

Yeah, those straight laced amish are living in a town called Intercourse. Just seems wrong. But then again, they grow tobacco and are against smoking. That's really wrong. AND they drive those confounded buggies on the roads and mess them up sooo bad but don't pay taxes that help to repair the road system...I could go on and on about the amish.

thatdarngirl #4 thatdarngirlOG 2002

In Malaysia they have a kite festival.

juicymango #5 juicymangoOG 2003

In Sweden they have an entire hotel made of ice. Ice beds, everything. It's close to the world's largest copper mine .. or something like that. And suposedly a lot of Asian people go there to see the Northern Lights. Sveeeden! YAAA!

thatdarngirl #5.1 thatdarngirlOG 2002

Seriously? After seeing that Bond movie I've wanted to stay somewhere like that!!! But why just Asian people..that's kind of odd. I want to see the northern lights too AND I want to see Asian people!!

ilikebirds #5.2 ilikebirdsOG 2002

how do you sleep on an all ice bed. like... i sleep neked.. so... hows that gonna help me keep warm. ... i'd be stuck to the bed. not cool

juicymango #5.2.1 juicymangoOG 2003

Au contraire. It's a special bed made of snow and ice, covered by reindeer skins, and then they give you a special thermal sleeping bag, and thermal clothing. I would probably never do it because I hate coldness of any kind.. but it sounds amazingly cool!! no pun intended.

juicymango #5.2.1.1 juicymangoOG 2003

And I just found out.. this is one of MANY! There is one in Canadia, one in Alaska, and one in Greenland, and one "GOTHIC" one is being built in Alaska. COOL!

i met some people who went stayed in one when i went to a party in clinton. i dont' think they related well that night.

juicymango juicymangoOG 2003

well then they're losers!! bahaha.. reindeer skins.. thermal sleeping bags... i duno sounds relatable to me!

ilikebirds ilikebirdsOG 2002

i'd be so nervous . cause i'm so wild.. that if the reindeer skin slips off.. and there's just all ice.. and i touch it.. i'm stuck. and that is not good

ilikebirds #6.1.1.1 ilikebirdsOG 2002

ekulu #6.2.1.1 ekuluOG 2002

ekulu ekuluOG 2002

malibu malibuOG 2001

people would be asking, " who are these white girls? and why does one of them have real red hair?"

flomojopoanode #7 flomojopoanodeFounder

South Dakota is fun--yeah right. But there are parts up in the northern-midwest that have NO SPEED LIMITS. Montana, South Dakota, and several other states are like this--but not just ANYWHERE, you'd have to find the speed limitless roads.

flomojopoanode #7.1 flomojopoanodeFounder

south dakota is fun with a group of friends. If you get to go to any meetings out there, that is fun. If you go out in service there, that is fun, too. Otherwise, South Dakota is not fun. I had fun there. I had lots of friends with me, service to do, and meetings to catch.
