by I wasn't going to write a journal, but I am - so here I am.
I have come to be a server at a ski resort here in PA and the clientele is ultra wealthy with personalities to match the lack of humor reflected in their lack of style. Needless to say it pays the rent and waitressing is waitressing.
So tonight I had to work, not to mention its New Year's Eve and I have to work tomorrow morning, New Year's day, and I can't go snowboarding at Mountain Creek - now I'm rambling.
Anyways I just get peeved because this girl I was working with decided she didn't want to handle anymore tables tonight and told the rest of us that she wasn't going to. Just made the statement and decided to not serve anyone else. Even told some other customers the kitchen was closed.
Now if I were to do that, more or less I would probably get fired. So here is my question to the Ezabel jury...
WHY ARE THERE PEOPLE IN LIFE THAT CAN JUST GET AWAY WITH BEING LIKE THAT? The kinda person who just states what they are going to do and not do and makes the rest of us accept it. The kinda a person who is sorta hard looking (this chick looks like a man) - or carries themself as a hard person.

hehehe sounds like me at my job... sometimes i just say "i'm not helping that customer" or "some one else has to ring cuz i don't feel like it" but then other times, i like to walk around the store and ask people if they need help instead of waiting till they ask some one else... i guess its like if ur equally doing work to make up for the times u are lazy-then its OK. :)

I know how you're feeling. I used to waitress at a restaurant, and I worked with a girl with a very similar attitude as the one you mentioned. I don't know how they manage to get away with certain things without getting the boot. But, I feel your pain.
