After covering 2Peter Chapter 2, I was amazed at who accuratly it depicts homosexual men today. These are some notes...
Verse 6 speaks about Sodom & Gomorrah, verse 7 speaks about how lot was delivered, who was greatly distressed by the conduct of those law-defying people. Verse 8 says that the things that they were doing "day to day" was tormenting his righteous soul. Verse 10 speaks about "Those who go after flesh with a desire to defile it, and who "look down on lordships". These day you can't tell a "flamming" homosexual anything. They have very little respect for athority, as they look down on lordship...It goes on to say "Daring, self willed, they do not tremble at glorious ones, but speak abusively of them. Verse 13 says that they consider luxurious living in the daytime a pleasure. They are spots and blemishes, indulging with unrestrained delight, in their deceptive teaching "while feasting together with you". How often do we see homosexual giving advice in accord with their deceptive teachings.. Verse 14 says that they have eyes full of adultry and unable to desist from sin, and "they entice unsteady souls". How often do we see that happen! They have a heart trained in covetness. They are accursed children.

So I definetly don't think anything can be said against the sister or brother who hates the "lifstyles" and "actions" of homosexuals.
I understand that homosexual actions are bad and any sexual things they do are bad..but I just..I donno. I have a real hard time with this. I absolutely do not agree with homosexuality at all, but I have a problem with it because I don't understand why people are like this (and I don't mean that in the "why can't they just be normal" way). Like, do we really understand what makes people gay?
i've me JWs who i know if they weren't JWs they would be gay, so part of it has to be genetic. however, its a bad tendency. some people are born more likely to be murderers, rageaholics, cleptomaniacs, or pyros. just because they were born like that doesn't justify the action, its something you have to fight against. people are just so accepting of it now.
Exactly, and I understand that it doesn't justify the action. But those that don't know it's wrong..that don't have the truth. I just feel bad for them. Because they're surrounded by a world that tells them it's all right, it's okay it's not your fault so just go with it you can't do anything to change that. And I guess they really can't do anything to change it, just supress it.

Their are many in the truth, even now who was some of those things you mentioned. 1 Cor 6:9 and 10 mentions fornicators, men who lie with men, theives and etc. The key as we all know is in verse 11 which says "that is what some of you were", but you have been washed clean and santicified...
A very good friend of mine, we grew up together, both our fathers were elders, all our families are in the truth, however he was disfellowshiped, became a homosexual, and now does women's hair for a living, with tight black pants, tight black turtle necks, flashy gucci belt buckles, and thick soled Kenneth Coles. It's upsetting and sad to me, but as a good friend of his, i'm still here in the truth, not a homosexual. I guess what i'm saying is that we all constantly have thoughts and inclinations contrary to Jehovah's expressed will. But just like you replied, we have to fight against them. Those who don't take advantage of the provisions like the meetings, info from the slave, field service, prayer, can easily fall prey to satan's deceptive works, such as the imorality he invented...
Some homosexuals are seeking refuge from a trobled family life or past. A recent WTCH article mentioned pornography as a factor which can lead to it. Compare homosexuality with drugs. Some start of with Marijuana and end up on crack. If a person who smokes crack, stops, and start back smoking marijuana, it would have very little effect on the individual, as they have went so far already in that direction. I think the same can be said of homosexuality. A lot of the homosexuals I personally know led very loose lives before becoming homosexuals. They did so much, that that which is natuaral and normal wasn't interesting and appealing to them anymore. So they then took it to another level of immorality.
I really didn't think that was the case (they did so much that other stuff wasn't appealing anymore) with most homosexuals. I thought most just really believed that is was right and they just liked the same sex and it is natural for them.
With some possibly. Others have had bad expirences with the opposite sex, so they clicked with those who shared similar expirences of the same sex. Some may have felt they were missing something in life, and sought homosexuality as an answer. I'm sure as with many other things, there are endless possibilities of why. But we were created in God's image, and we are most successful the closer we reflect that. Hence it is important to direct homosexuals to god's purpose for them, and as they bring their lives in harmony with that, they will indeed find gayness in its puriest form.
Although i do not agree to their lifestyle, i do find a some compassion for some. The majority that I have talked to have become homosexual due to some sort of abuse, whether it be domestic, emotional or sexual. Some of it is mental and i feel sorry for that. I know Jah is love and only he can read their hearts and will let the truth come to those who can listen and will have the compassion and love for those who are far gone mentally.
What I am trying to figure out is what makes homosexuality any diffrent from fornication or adultry. Jehovah dosn't bring about any distinction. In numerous scriptures, they are mentioned in the same context as thieves, greedy persons, and etc. If a person was abused sexually and they choose a life of thievery, or prostitution, to vent their emotional hurt, what of it? Why do we feel greater compassion for the homosexual?
Because it's not just sexual abuse that makes people become homosexual..no one really knows for sure what it is. Some homosexuals can point to an event or something that did it for them but that's a select few. And again, the world still condems theivery and prostitution..yet it says homosexuality is all right.
Fornication and adultry are desires, desires that can fester up in our hearts and minds if we don't "look away". Take it some homosexuality is "desirous" to some also, but what i'm saying for the most part, some have been destroyed mentally.
homosexuality is a CHOICE in most people. Yea some are hormonally unbalanced, but when Jah destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, all CHOSE to remain even tho Lot tried.
SO basically its a gross sin and CAN be overcome.
still, i would say the world in general and even JWs for the most part have a less condemning view on fornication than homosexuality when really they're equally bad in Jehovah's eyes. as JWs we can't condemn anybody though, so I can't say I totally agree with the viewpoint you are portraying here.
Yeah, suicide is a sin and is wrong (if I'm wrong there, feel free to correct me) but if someone commits suicide we are in NO position to judge them. It is only up to Jehovah to judge someone. We do not know what's going on in their mind, their heart..we have no idea and even if we did we're still not in the position to judge.
Suicide is a one time act. A person can't pratice suicide. However, they can pratice fornication,porneia, and homosexuality. The bible is very clear when it states that such individuals will not inherit god's kingdom.

There is a BIG difference between attempting suicide and suicide. One you die, the other you don't. And don't even think for a second that I take this subject lightly. You don't know me at all lady. I'm somewhat saddened by some of the banter on this. Some are taking things out of text and it's all in lightheartedness. It's all thoughts & viewpoints and no ones pointing the finger at anyone. Jah's giving us the wonderful freedom to choose & speak and this site gives us the freedom also. no ones calling anyone anything and its all out of fun
