Sausage Party

violetboregaurd by violetboregaurd · Jan 26, 2004 · 238 views · · · Journal

So I was supposed to attend a party this weekend in the city, (NYC that is) - but instead of going I ended up hanging out with some close friends. Not a bad alternative at all.
Here is the scenario - the party was going to be attended my mostly all people I didn't know, not a bad thing, its always fun to meet new people. But do to a situation that was blown way out of proportion, a situation in which I was the third party victim of some misunderstanding, a misunderstanding that was not founded in ANY amount of truth, my close friends did not want me to go to the party. They decided I shouldn't go because I may be uncomfortable. I love them for that. BUT I think the decision should have been mind.
Here is what had happened, I met a brother through a friend, nice enough guy - hung out once or twice no big deal. I come to find out a month or so later that he, jokingly or not, made the times we hung out to be way more than what they were. He told his best friend, who is a girl and in turn she told a few of her friends. Now whether they were joking or not the whole story got back to me in a most hurtful fashion. AND NONE OF IT WAS TRUE. A fabrication on the part of the brother and a story blown out of proportion between friends, and I was the topic.
Needless to say he did call to apologize one night and for that, well it is what it is.
So this past Saturday, those involved in the previous description attended this party - so my friends asked to bring me but decided I would be way to uncomfortable being there. SO because of maybe 5 people out or the 100 or so there I missed out.
I am not sure why this bothers me, maybe because its just a ridiculous situation - either way I was hurt by it all and made to be a topic of something that never even happened.
What does anyone think?

I think the decision should have been yours. If 100 people were there, you could have easily avoided the 5.

I was once the victim of a massive match-making scheme. A brother liked me and my friend gave him the impression that I was as good as his. So he has high hopes and is telling tons of people about thise scheme to get us together. I eventually found out and told my friend that she needed to handle this because I was in no way interested. Even though it wasn't my fault, I felt like the bad guy. It stinks becuase I then felt uncomfortable around this guy who was a good friend of a friend. Anyhow, news travels, you can't help it.

I think whoever introduced you to that orginal guy, despite how dashingly handsome and suave he may be....ahem...wait i lost my point. Oh yeah...so since its my buddy who got your buddies thinking youd feel out of place, i think you should blame me. soley me. call my elders and parents, and let loose sister.
