I always used to feel that attachments to material objects restricted a persons freedom, their happiness, and their concentration on greater things. Today i till have the tendency to think that not having anything or having much will make me happier, more comfortable (obviously not material comfort). It's a kind of "let go of materials possesions to gain the real possesion" kind of philosophy. But i guess that's it, it's just a personal philosophy that i grew up with. It's hard to get a lot of philosophical ideas out of your head that you've had for a long time that have been an important part of you. Deeply entrenched perceptions of the world, personal beliefs and the thought patterns that go a long with them arent easily gotten rid of.

for some reason this makes me think of gandhi. changing cemented notions and perceptive routines is pretty rough, but still a lot of people have. everyone starts with baby steps towards whatever change they wish to make, mind or body. give us/me more info, because i'm curious as to what you're talkin' about.
