The land of K-Mart

magnum by magnum · Feb 9, 2004 · 250 views · · · Journal

So i went to this land of K-Mart tonight. Upon arrival i was greeted by weird looking people, dare i say white trash. Now it was 7:30 pm on a weeknight so i guess i should have expected that. I went on my journey and found the few items i needed, might i add very weird shopping in kmart by yourself when the store is empty. Somehow i cought the virus, i was talking to myself in kmart about what i needed and what was going on in my life. At once i realized i had to leave!

So i get to the check out, i follow the other poor lost soul buying paper towels and soap. I look at this line and decide its to long and walk all the way back to the other register. This same poor guy is walking in circles trying to decide to leave or not. Welp my register has people buying useless stuff and a coat but somehow they cant find the price for the piece of junk pocket book. ANOTHER REGISTER OPENS, however since i am in the middle of the line i can not get to it and somehow the people behind me are gone before i even get to it.

So i wait longer. Finnaly i make it and for some reason they need my zip code, nothing else, well besides my money. On my final steps out some mexicans are being receipt checked by the security guard for 2 items. Once they are done he just looks at me and says go on with my bags and bins. Ahh the freedom of america the way it should be! Kidding, or am i!? Anyway the cliff notes are, shop on weekends when people are around because it makes you feel more normal.

an empty store on LI? Impossible! Oh they were prob all at Kohls.

violetboregaurd violetboregaurdOG 2003 ·

yeah or drove two hours to the nearest Wal-Mart.

True Fact: Wal-Mart builds its stores right next to K-Marts to put them out of business... Economics/Ethics 101

iwz iwz ·

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

thats so true. i find that to be small-minded and silly! i know so many people who think driving a half hour for ANY reason besides an assembly or convention is rediculous. bah!

tinser tinserOG 2002 ·

i'll tell you why: Becuase Walmart has a policy where they only spend a certain amount for their land...and being that you live in mahwah, which has high real estate prices, most of the land falls over their spending price, so they just don't put them there. Same thing with long island, there is only one on the whole island i think. Pennsylvania on the other hand...they are everywhere

you are very clever for a slow and unwieldy midget. thank goodness for kitchen appliances and salad spinners in graphic positions.

at walmart last night some people were fighting over the last bag of rice in spanish. it was rather disturbing and yet oddly amusing. when an employee was restocking the shelf, they just continued fighting instead of one giving the bag up and taking a new bag.

while i love walmart i hate it...i don't like the inconsiderate people it attracts! but i am stoked they give opportunities to certain "types"

i think they went out of business. i LOVED that store. they had a counter where you could get lunch. 1.99 for a grilled cheese, french fries or chips, a soda, and a pickle!

Target is like 10x better.

tinser tinserOG 2002 ·

yeah, you totally are. You have got to go into walmart at least once in your life and try to get kicked out, although i'd recommend doing it more then once. It's the greatest form of entertainment....at least when you're in Pennsylvania

magnum magnumOG 2001 ·
