You may not even recognize me...

In November I began to embark on "project DS" (a.k.a. project Dead Sexy), and I made it my goal that by this summer, I will no longer be a skinny bean pole. A few have joined me in this quest, with their own physical goals, but most of them have been flaky at best.

I actually can't believe that I've managed to stay motivated for this long. In the past, I've always been able to work out for about a month or two solid, before missing a few times, then just giving up. But this time, I made sure I wouldn't do that. How? I bit the bullet and bought a gym membership to a small local gym. Having the knowledge in the back of my mind that the money I spent is going to waste if I don't use it has been motivation I needed. That, and that I want to be a beast by this summer. So far, I've been sticking to it, making sure I get to the gym at least 3 or 4 times a week and training really hard.

I have to say that I'm happy with my progress so far, but I still have a way to go. In October, I weighed about 183 pounds. Yesterday, I weighed 206 pounds, which for 6'2" is about an average weight. My goal is by June to be 225 pounds, we'll see if I can do it or not.

I don't want to look like a musclehead, I want to be athletic, so I have to keep running and doing abs like crazy too. Hopefully, I will be able to fulfill PROJECT DS.

i think girls will like u whether ur skinny OR buff.

thefunkyfresh #1.1 thefunkyfreshFounder

haha, thanks. I can't use girls as motivation for working out though, I know too many guys that just let themselves go after they get a woman. plus who needs girls anyway?

thefunkyfresh #1.1.1 thefunkyfreshFounder

...i'm not gay

forrestina #1.1.2 forrestinaOG 2002

some women do the same thing. i'm all about doing it for yourself tho. i started working out with the goal of getting my arms more cut for my roomates wedding next month. i always start working out with the intention of doing it long term, but i seem to just trail off. this time is different tho-i've been working out everyday for the past month and a half. i feel really great. progress is slow, but i have to take things easy cus of my severe asthma. way to be DS!

thefunkyfresh #1.1.2.1 thefunkyfreshFounder

i have to say, the best thing about working out is that it makes me feel better all the time. more energy, get sick less, everything

juicymango juicymangoOG 2003

Yes I agree!!! i have a goal for this summer too to be more toned and in much better shape and look GOOD even though i'll be 25 hahaha.... a lot of people just kinda let things go after they get married and start gettin into their late 20's and I refuse. But yeah progress is slow. When i was 18 I did like 2 situps and i got a "girl-appropriate" sixpack. haha. Now... not so quick.... at all.

socalgal socalgalOG 2003

seriously, keep it up, when you hit 30 its SO much harder to keep the pounds off and to enjoy your food. I never believed this til i turned 30 and jsut in this year alone it's like my metabolism slowed so i have to work a bit harder...so sad..

starshiptrooper #1.1.3 starshiptrooperOG 2003

yodasucka #2 yodasuckaOG 2003

i do not work out.. i eat what i want... this is why i am out of shape...

beachbum #3 beachbumOG 2002

playing sports is a good motivation to be in good shape. i realized after going to the rock climbing gym that my arms needed a LOT more work than i was giving them.

socalgal #4 socalgalOG 2003

UGH it makes me wanna cry when guys talk about how they need to bulk up! girls fight to keep their weight down....makes me sick!

thefunkyfresh #7.4.2 thefunkyfreshFounder

omegatweeter #12 omegatweeterOG 2003

nice man. i have a similar project to you, tho it doesn't sound as sexy as yours. i was weeeee skinny when i was 13, weighing 135 lbs. i started lifting when i was 16, weighed 170 lbs. next year i weighed 180 lbs. now i'm up to around 185 lbs. but this time around, i wanna go more extreme, cut the timeframe in half, and reach 195-200 lbs by june.

ekulu #13 ekuluOG 2002

my project is to flatten my belly. it's not so bad that children try to rub it for good luck, but it could be better. Anybody know how i could lose the extra weight around the belly? Maybe rock supastar has some tips. lol. anyway, if all else fails, trimspa, baby!

omegatweeter #13.1 omegatweeterOG 2003

do some cardio like walking or running and ab routines like crunches. they'll get trimmed up. otherwise, if you add some resistance on your abs like weights, they'll get bigger.

ekulu #13.1.1 ekuluOG 2002

mmm, crunches. like nestle crunches, right? hmmm... maybe thats where my problem is. haha

omegatweeter #13.1.1.1 omegatweeterOG 2003

lol yeah man, go get yourself a year supply

rocksupastar #13.2 rocksupastarFounder

ADAM!!!! what is this!! i am used to it from other people!! but you were my SHELTER!!!! forget it, i hate you too!

violetboregaurd #14 violetboregaurdOG 2003

that is so awesome! rock on... my project was to eat more healthy and be more health (not getting sick) concious. I've lost 25 pounds... woo hoo and feel a lot better. just thought i'd share.

socalgal #14.1 socalgalOG 2003

thats awesome! I'm stoked for you! serious, even 5lbs is a feat!

thatdarngirl #14.1.1 thatdarngirlOG 2002

I gained 10 pounds...that was a feat.

specialk #15 specialkOG 2003

If you want to work on your upper thighs and buttock area, go roller skating. Seriously, I'm not kidding. Vigorous roller skating WHOOPED my butt last weekend. But it really worked on my upper thighs...just a tip for anyone who wants to work out, but hates working out.

ophelia #16 opheliaOG 2003

what the heck?!?!...i guess i'm not the only one gaining weight....I haven't worked out in, a while..but...a lil more than a month ago, i stepped on a scale @ a friends house, & it had me @ 142lbs....i was @ a department store yesterday, and, there was a scale there, I step on it, and, now i'm 155..how did this happen?..i have the slightest clue..i guess i HAVE been eating alot..but..13 lbs?..in, a lil more than a month?..crazy..i'm gonna go eat some mac&cheese & see if i can bring it up to 170...

rocksupastar #16.1 rocksupastarFounder

ive heard this like 4 times already... SHEESH!

tinser #16.2 tinserOG 2002

maybe the scales were set differently

ophelia #16.2.1 opheliaOG 2003

maybe you get a sadistic pleasure from bursting people's bubbles!

tinser #16.2.1.1 tinserOG 2002

actually, i was behind you and a put my foot on the back of the scale...sorry

ophelia opheliaOG 2003

ya know, that changes a lot...i could weigh like 80 lbs, & cause of YOUR LIL PRANK, i wouldn't know

tinser tinserOG 2002

actually, it'd be more like 40 pounds...that's not healthy bryan...you really better start eating that mac and cheese

yodasucka yodasuckaOG 2003

haha don't worry Bry, looking at how tiny (and adorable!) our dear little Courtney is... i've come to the conclusion that her foot couldn't weight more then lets say 5 lbs... so you're still good...

tinser tinserOG 2002

haha, but maybe i have heavy feet

socalgal #16.3 socalgalOG 2003

i hate boys and their "weight gain" stories.....BLAH! lol

thatdarngirl #16.3.1 thatdarngirlOG 2002

Oh wow Bry, she just said your mom.

rocksupastar #16.3.1.1 rocksupastarFounder

rocksupastar rocksupastarFounder

socalgal socalgalOG 2003

ophelia #16.3.1.2 opheliaOG 2003
