aww, i'm sorry :( that's so hard to do

starshiptrooper #1.1 starshiptrooperOG 2003

thanks, yea its basically killing me.

skaorsk8 #2 skaorsk8OG 2002

that definitely is hard. pets are sort of glue that hold families together, i know that sounds odd, but for those of you who think that, try to imagine your family without your cat or dog that you've had for 10 years.

but...you know the bible says animals are not meant to live forever...i bet there have been plenty of good memories, though.

starshiptrooper #2.1 starshiptrooperOG 2003

thanks yea this cat was like my 3rd daughter.
i'll get over it. its just hurting so much now.
i have a cute pic of her on my ezabel info page.
she liked to sleep in the doll house i made.

jewyface #2.1.1 jewyfaceOG 2004

ur cat is cute. she looks like ours. except our is a runt so shes small. sorri bout ur loss.

yodasucka #2.1.1.1 yodasuckaOG 2003

yea wow she does look a lot like lil fag haha (that is actully my cats name btw)

starshiptrooper starshiptrooperOG 2003

lil fag! hahaha! my nicknme for the cat was stupid, of course said with great affection ;)

yodasucka yodasuckaOG 2003

haha well its not pronouced as u think... its Italian... we call her fagolina which means stringbean cuz she was the runt of the litter... i've started just calling her fag tho haha

forrestina forrestinaOG 2002 offtopic

sounds like "fadge"

D
dgiaimoOG 2003

Did mel mean to write fagiolina then?

yodasucka yodasuckaOG 2003

no, its spelt fagolina.. at least in my dilect haha there is no "i" after the G

forrestina forrestinaOG 2002

HAH in your dialect. i thought you had no dialect. trying to deny your sicilian heritage and making up some phony englalian language.

yodasucka yodasuckaOG 2003 forrestina

haha i absolutely HATE it when dad cuts the ending off words like a Sicilian! SO annoying!! gr

forrestina forrestinaOG 2002 yodasucka

you are sicilian man--look at how short you are!!

yodasucka yodasuckaOG 2003 forrestina

i may be one, but i will NEVER talk like one! LoL!

socalgal socalgalOG 2003

you MUST teach me italian...i know some words from my ex but nothing big....

yodasucka yodasuckaOG 2003 socalgal

hehe surely :) i would love to

D
dgiaimoOG 2003

And what dialect would that be? AFAICR a 'g' followed by an 'o' is always pronounced hard in Italian.

yodasucka yodasuckaOG 2003 dgiaimo

yo, it is spelt "fagolina"! i know that i am right!!!

D
dgiaimoOG 2003 yodasucka

Haha. I'd like to see you find any italian dictionary that has it spelled that way. Bean is fagiolo, not fagolo.

yodasucka yodasuckaOG 2003 dgiaimo

::goes to get Italian book:: omg u are completely right! there is an I after the G.... i just got owned

I put my cat to sleep last March. I had him since I was 8, so he was mine for almost 15 years. It was one of the hardest things I'd ever had to do. I'm so sorry that you have to go through it.
The only thing I can say is that it does stop hurting after awhile. I know that may sound silly, but it's true. It's gonna hurt for some time....but the days are gonna pass, and you'll adjust to life without her. I'm really sorry to hear that though. Pets can be like family at times, especially if you've had them for years.

starshiptrooper #3.1 starshiptrooperOG 2003

it the next day after her death, and I feel sad, but a great relief.

starshiptrooper #3.2 starshiptrooperOG 2003

she was 10. thats about 54 in our years.

juicymango #4 juicymangoOG 2003

awwww that stinks.... :( I feel for ya. One of my friends had to put her cat to sleep a couple years ago and I still get sad thinking about it :( it was soooo sad

its gonna suck when my two kitties go.

modestjesse #5 modestjesseOG 2004

I'm sorry, I never had to do that, thank goodness. But my heart goes out to you.

starshiptrooper #6 starshiptrooperOG 2003

Scoutty died tonite at about 6:05PM.
I feel so much better that shes not suffering.
They think she had Mad Cow Disease, which is called FSE in cats.
Watch out for the cat food. They use the most discusting, dieased parts. Including ground up nervous systems of cows in the beef kitty food. I did research on it.

socalgal #6.1 socalgalOG 2003

I'm sorry to hear that!

Mad cow disease? WOW thats insane!

starshiptrooper #6.1.1 starshiptrooperOG 2003

be careful of the beef products u feed ur cat!
i've read they grind up the spine and the brain along with everything else! (healthy ground bone is good for kitty, its got marrow and calcium) but i think chicken or fish is a better idea!

tinser #6.1.1.1 tinserOG 2002

i bet they do that for dog food too

starshiptrooper starshiptrooperOG 2003

yes they do. not all cows are diseased but there are those ones that get thru.
personally i LOVE beef. esp. barbequed...hey, wait....maybe thats why my brain is turning to mush..whats my name? lol

tinser tinserOG 2002

i haven't stopped eating beef either...if i love beef, no point in not eating what i want just on the chance that the meat will be bad. Beef is amazing...a nice red medium rare steak and i'm all set to go.

ugh, my mouth is watering now

starshiptrooper starshiptrooperOG 2003

how I agree w/you! when i read ur comment, my stomach growled!

specialk #6.2 specialkOG 2003

That's so weird. That is different thatn what my kitty got sick from, but it was also kind of a terminal illness thing. I'm so sorry to hear that. :(

omegatweeter #7 omegatweeterOG 2003

awwww poor kitty! me sowwy :( i lost my kitty too, he got taken away and i didn't even know.

starshiptrooper #7.1 starshiptrooperOG 2003

that happened top me when i was a kid. they kept taken my cats away w/o tellin me. they just didnt want them. thats mean.
BUT if it was sick, maybe they just didnt want to upset u at tht moment, and let u know after the euthanasia.

omegatweeter #7.1.1 omegatweeterOG 2003

his tail was hurt, but i knew he was still ok. i used to sit on the porch with him and teach him morals and wat kinda female kitties to look for. and i pet him and there was the occasional drool on my pants thing but i didn't care, i loved my kitty.

starshiptrooper #7.1.1.1 starshiptrooperOG 2003

you are so sweet!! i wish my kitty coulda been in paradise.
but Jesus didnt die for cats.

ilikebirds #8 ilikebirdsOG 2002

my thought is that if you're allowed to put animals asleep to save them from suffering.

You should be able to do the same for humans.

Is animal suffering much worst than human suffering...
or
Is it that human life is too valuable even in the late stages of terminal illness... what who why when and where

starshiptrooper #8.1 starshiptrooperOG 2003

Ty, I SO feel the same way.
A doctor told me once that sometimes they give terminal patients a *little extra* pain meds, which can hasten thier death. I do suspect they did that to my mom and I have no anger towards them.

juicymango #8.1.1 juicymangoOG 2003

yeah that's gotta be annoying, especially if your mind is still sorta functioning and you're in sooo much pain you can't even speak, and you just keep thinking "i want to die"... and wake up in a meadow

:(

i hate this system

juicymango #9 juicymangoOG 2003

Question - my uncle's dog got poisoned and the only way to save him was to give him a blood transfusion.

But it was too late anyway and the doggy died :(

anwyays, my uncle's not in the truth, but being in the truth, would you feel weird having your PET have a transfusion....

that whole thing puzzled me, i don't knwo how i feel about that... i mean it's ANIMALS so .. is it different?

i mean animals commit fornication basically all the time, haha.. .... haha so why not transfusions......

lol right??? or no??

thatdarngirl #9.1 thatdarngirlOG 2002

That made my head hurt! But..where does this blood come from!? I don't see all the pets lined up outside a trailer donating blood..

juicymango #9.1.1 juicymangoOG 2003

yeah, i just thought the whole issue was really weird.

And extremely sad that the doggy died :( This was years ago but I still get sad thinking about it. :(

Apparently the dog ran away from home and must have ate some rat poison or something, he wasn't like, deliberately poisoned, hopefully, cos that would just be HORRIBLE.

iwz #9.2 iwz

interesting one! i looked it up, and there's actually a question from readers on it.

Here's the gist:

God’s law on blood is very clear. Blood is not to be used as food and, when withdrawn from a body, it is to be poured out on the ground. (Gen. 9:3, 4; Lev. 3:17; Deut. 12:16, 23, 24; Acts 15:20, 28, 29) Christians certainly would not wish to do anything in violation of Jehovah’s law on blood. Love for God and for the righteous laws and principles of his Word calls forth that response from them in matters pertaining to blood.

Since God’s law on blood has not been altered over the centuries, Christians today realize that they are bound by it. Please note, however, that it is not fear of some reprisal that moves them to comply with Jehovah’s law on blood. They do not obey God’s law simply because violation of it might result in the imposing of sanctions by the Christian congregation of which they are a part. They love what is right. Furthermore, because of their love of God’s law they will not rationalize or seek ways in which it appears possible to circumscribe it with seeming impunity.

How, then, must we answer the question, Would it be a violation of the Scriptures for a Christian to permit a veterinarian to give blood transfusions to a pet? By all means, to do so would be a violation of the Scriptures. To use blood for transfusion purposes, even in the case of an animal, would be improper. The Bible is very clear in showing that blood should not be eaten. It should not be infused, therefore, to build up the body’s vital forces, either in the case of a human or in the case of a pet or any other animal under the jurisdiction of a Christian.

It then continues talking about animal food with blood in it. Basically the same principal applies: it's the _blood_ that is sacred to Jehovah. we wouldn't want to misuse it.

juicymango #9.2.1 juicymangoOG 2003

wow, that is very interesting!! I can understand too how it's totaly different from animals committing um.. adultery. Haha. That's their instinct, they dont' know any better. But if an owner alows a transfusion, it's the owner making it happen. ... hmm interesting yo.

D
#9.2.1.1 dgiaimoOG 2003

Hmm... But what about if the owner breeds the animals? Then it is the owner making it happen.

juicymango juicymangoOG 2003

haha... eek! haha could you imagine if JW's started having marriages for their pets. Then we would REALLY be crazy.

iwz iwz

haha, but of course, Jehovah instituted marriage as only between a man and a woman. animals don't count - it's not fornication haha.

juicymango juicymangoOG 2003

it's still funny to think about. Dem dirty beasts!

thefunkyfresh #9.2.1.2 thefunkyfreshFounder

wow! nice job ian!

ilikebirds #9.3 ilikebirdsOG 2002

i dont know buy my dog carries a no blood card.

tinser #9.3.1 tinserOG 2002

ilikebirds #9.3.1.1 ilikebirdsOG 2002

sinner!
better hope they dont get into an high blood loss accidents

starshiptrooper #9.4 starshiptrooperOG 2003

good question. the other day i was talking online witha young man whose dog jumped out of his sisters arms and by mistake hit his chest into the sharp corner of a bureau. he seemed fine. but then he started acting funny in a littel while and they took him to a vet. The vet found the dog, in hitting his chest tore an aorta and was slowly bleeding to death internally. The only way to save him was an operation but the vet said the dog would need a transfusion. The kids' mom said no, as a JW and the dog was put down. Her son did not agree but that was the final decision.
The only use for blood in the bible was for sacrifice, otherwise (animal or human) it would be poured out on the ground.

hunkpapap #10 hunkpapapOG 2003

I miss my cat. We didn't have a choice. He died on his own. Had diabetes and just died within a week. all by himself alone in the aspca. I know he half died of being scared and alone.

I miss him. but i don't misss those days when i come home and the drapes are shredded and i just wanted to duct tape him to an off ramp...

starshiptrooper #10.1 starshiptrooperOG 2003

awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww thats so sad.
Poor kitty. thank goodness hes sleeping and doesnt know the diference now.

thatdarngirl #11 thatdarngirlOG 2002

If animals survive into the new system to they get to live forever too?

ilikebirds #11.1 ilikebirdsOG 2002

you know what i always thought that you always wear nice scarves!

starshiptrooper #12 starshiptrooperOG 2003

kinda good news.
my cat crazy friend jean has a kitty for me if i want it. shes *fixed* and low maintainance, and about 2 years of age.
I will ponder this, but nokitty can take Scouties place.

tinser #12.1.1.3 tinserOG 2002
