NEW YORK (AP) A 20-year old woman was found dead in her Bronx apartment, apparently the victim of a spurned ex-boyfriend.
The woman, Eva Madera, was discovered lying on the floor of her apartment at 2033 Valentine Avenue about 1 p.m. Tuesday, with her heart cut out, authorities said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities said Madera broke up with her alleged attacker, and he later came back and killed her.
Police have an unidentified suspect in custody, but have not placed him under arrest.
The suspect is undergoing questioning by police at a local hospital, said Sgt. John Grimpel, a police spokesman.
