FREE MONEY

Are you happy with your current job? Mine is .. okay.. but.. I really don't want to work in this office anymore. I don't really like spending all day sitting at the computer. It's just not what I was meant to do, heh. I want to do what I love for a living, as I'm sure everyone else out there wants to do ... and I'm gonna make a go of it. I'm going to try to become a professional photographer and see what happens. I have been working toward this goal for the past six months or so, educating myself as much as possible, assisting a photographer in several weddings, taking photos at concerts and family events, and seeing what develops. And this weekend my website was finally completed!

www.kamilaharris.com

Check it out, EZ-message me with any comments on content/layout and please feel free to criticise (or praise, hehe) - I would really appreciate feedback at the moment, I need some non-biased completely honest opinions :)

And what's in it for you??

If you like my work, and you refer someone to me, and they hire me for portraits, any special event, etc., you will get $25 from me, as a "thank you" gesture. Just make sure the person you're referring gives me your name/address, and you're set.

Thanks!

We get a discount?

juicymango #1.1.1 juicymangoOG 2003

well it's gonna be less expensive than most places, methinks. The prices that I have on that client preview site, are pretty good considering most people charge like $18 bucks for a 5x7 ? right? if i discount it any more I'll be losing money haha

are you doing mostly digital or 35mm.

just be carefull when promising a size & its a digital format!

framing and matting isnt very cheep, but I guess it depeands on the way your going about it.

im sure your doing this but make sure you price out those things and know what type of frames you will provide and the sizes.
price out each seperatley, so you know if someone just wants a photo matted and they will frame it. Im sure yer doin this anyway.

juicymango juicymangoOG 2003

I'm doing both film and digital and I have printed 8x10's from my digitals and they come out great! The 3.2 megapixel works just fine for stuff up to that size, I'm not too sure about bigger sizes and for now i'm not offering bigger sizes for that reason, I have to try it out first. But the new digital that I should be getting soon will be 6.3 megapixel so that's even better.

And I should have framing and matting options up there soon and everything will be priced out. I will have many frame and mat choices! I'm workin on it as we speaketh!

good good

I am so itching to get my digital. ASAP. I want to experience the fun of it and stop spending so much money on processing.

juicymango juicymangoOG 2003

yeah, well you still have to pay for processing if people want proofs and such, but still it is SO much cheaper to do than film. I can't wait to get mine too. Just a little while longer. Seriously it is the most fun to use, cos it's the fun of an SLR and the convenience of digital all in one!! haha

juicymango juicymangoOG 2003

and by "printed" i mean profesionally printed at a photo studio, not on my home printer, hehe.

reaf reafOG 2002

ha ha, i was just going to say, if you can invest the money in purchasing a printer for a descant amount, in the long run you save even more money!

yeah I am hoping to HOPEFULLY pick mines up like next month. But who knows! i hate bills and this will only create more, ha. for a little bit anyway.

yeah im exciting to try it, i still really love 35 mm, especially when I start developing it I think i will like it even more. digital is nice for instant gratification.
I want to REALLY get into the art of processing cause SOOO much rests on that, that I never really realized before.

juicymango juicymangoOG 2003

yeah i duno, that would be cool to get a really good printer and a film scanner, that would be all I need I would never have to pay a photo studio again. Of course ink, paper, etc. would add up tho....

ophelia #2 opheliaOG 2003

awesome website!....like..super professional looking..nice color scheme too...i'm assuming you're going to soon add a section for like, packages and pricing for your customers to see and stuff right?

juicymango #2.1 juicymangoOG 2003

Thank you very much! And I'm not really sure what to do about that, if i should actually put packages and pricing for stuff on the website, or have it available upon request type of thing. What do you think? I'm not really sure how to go about that yet...

ophelia #2.1.1 opheliaOG 2003

hmm...you know what yeah that's a good idea, have it set up where like the options are completely open & each job is like specified for each customer...have it like say somewhere on the website "contact me for custome photo packages" or whatever

juicymango #2.1.1.1 juicymangoOG 2003

yeah basically that's the thing, each package kinda depends on the customer's needs, it's not all the same
