I strongly dislike NJ Road Signs
So coming back from six flags on monday night i decide to take the goethals bridge home since its easier to take then the outerbridge. Get all the way to the exit and about 50 feet before it i see "Goethals bridge closed 9:30pm to 5 am" and then immediately look at my clock as i get on the ramp and see its 9:43 PM. Great, well maybe they didnt close it yet. NOPE closed, and super awesome detour signs are posted to get on rt 9/1. Ok hop on rt 9/1 and then all detour signs disappear leaving me in the rather nice town of elizabeth which previously i was at 2 weeks ago and some kid got killed around the corner from where i was going. Anyway on rt 1/9 i go trying to figure out how to get to the outerbridge crossing. Steaming mad that i got to drive all the way south again to go all the way back north again. Which brings me to my next point, a simple sign when you got on or off the bridge saying it was to be closed would have be nice. OR even better a sign by the outerbridge exit on the Turnpike saying 'Goethals bridge closed get off this exit idiots!'. Anyway we decided to stop at a diner along the way which eerily had no one in it. Food was ehhh. Back on the road i finnaly notice a 'outerbridge crossing ahead' sign about 2 foot in height by 1 foot wide like 15 feet up a light pole. If not for my eagle eye sight and being in the right lane i never would have seen that. Every few miles you would see one and then eventually they stopped. Then i saw a NJTP sign with a use left lane, which then the left lane split off from the highway and then split again with no info as to which way to go on the second split. GO JERSEY! Drive for a little bit then see a outerbridge crossing sign get off on that exit and then see a sign for 440 remember that goes to the outerbridge and hop on that, all in like 1/4 of a mile. Mapquest would have got lost like a million times over trying to give directions on this little journey. Thus i Strongly dislike your road signs!
Side note, the new King da whatever ride and Six flag ROCKS! The 2 horus and 45 mins waiting just to get to where they tell you what line to get on to board your train does not. We also waited another 25 mins to go on the front since we waited that long in the first place. All i got to say is wow, front seat rocks on that, highly recommend it. I have been on the 405 foot coaster in Cedar Point ohio and doesnt even compare at all to this one. The initial speed burst is insane and then the complete 90 degree drop is awesome, looking straight at the ground haha i loved it.

hrm ignore the lack of paragraphs/horredous spelling. Someone needs to add a edit button on the journals!
ha i knew goethals is closed cos i see the signs everyday. i live right by 1&9/440. is it only closed going east? i'm wondering why you wouldn't have seen signs coming to nj. even if it was only closed going east they should post signs on the ny side.
how about you man up!!!
I do pretty good following our road signs...I'm on the road alone A LOT so I spot a sign and wing it from there, so far I haven't been steered wrong.
sometimes, up north, the signs are a bit funny. not too bad though. theres only a few main roads you need to know to get in, around, and out of jersey. you're not from the area and you were plagued by a sucky detour that got you pretty lost. happens to the best of us. cry me a river.
NJ is a maze.
I saw this sign several times in the past two weeks and I thought of your story.
same here. i chuckled.
