Have You Ever...?

Have you ever seen the sun

     in the middle of the day

Towering over the earth

     with its soothing rays?

Have you ever seen the clouds

     billowing above

Reminding us of softness

     and beauty and love?

Have you ever noted the vastness

     of the great blue sky

A giant canvas of color

     so elegant, you sigh?

Have you ever looked at the stars

     as they shine in the night?

How colorful they are --

     some dim, some bright.

Have you ever seen the moon

     as it crosses the sky

So quiet and gentle

     as it passes on by?

Have you ever wondered how long

     these things have been

Or how many before

     have gazed up and said:

"Have you ever seen the sun

     in the middle of the day

Towering over the earth

     with its soothing rays?"
