So, um, Tell me about this sNoWbOaRdInG
Well, everybody's all excited about how its closer to winter because they can go snowboarding again. My friends round here kept saying, "oh its great" and all that, but i dont know the first thing about snowboarding. Basically how my friends explained it to me was that u strap ur self to a board and plunge down a mountian and somehow dont die. Tell me, please, about this snow-boarding. What's it like? What do u do? How does it feeeeeeeel? Does it feel anything like eating a peppermint patty?

It's amaaaaaazing...I really never thought about it the way you said it (plunging down a mountain and somehow not dying) but I think that's what adds to the rush. You get like, this sense of freedom when you're flying down a mountain. When you first start though, it hurts A LOT. The day after you try it for the first time, you will feel like you were run over by a Mack truck about 40 times, but after that...IT'S GREAT!
then you go and do a back-flip by mistake.
haha, i remember that! i dont know if i remember it cuz i was there...or just hearing about it...did u go to killington, vt, two years ago dean? and was that when it happend??
now did we REALLY have to go and bring that up?!
hahah, in reply to jahanna and jen: I don't know if jahanna was there. but its a sight I will never forget. it was in killington a while back. And I will ALWAYS bring it up. you should be ridiculously proud and at the same time completely embarrased. How many people can say they feel that way about something that happened to them?
Ridiculously proud?? Yea, proud of myself that I didn't break my neck. That was out of control though. It scared me enough that I wouldn't go off of any jumps for the next year.
dude, haven't you ever seen people snowboard on like the X games, or in movies?
X who???? no, everytime i wanna watch the x games, my mom wants to watch something like lifetime. and women who are saving their babies from psycho husbands rarely have time to snowboard
Yes, there are times I'm glad I'm no longer married.... no more Lifetime TV!!!!
not ALL women like lifetime! it makes me mad cuz it gets girls all riled up into men hating mode...which brings me to something, why in all lifetime movies does the man beat the woman?! it confuses the mess out of me!
yeah it makes all men evil on that channel, and chicks always wind up killing a dude. Violent i say!
actually, there are a few movies where the wife beats the husband, and he has to run away and save the kids
they're trying to appeal to the feminine individual. they target both feminine women and feminine men
yeah but if you were a feminine man, wouldn't you be running away from your "life partner"?
makes me think of: drowning mona... "i don't wanna hurt somebody phil, I wanna hurt YOU!" WHACK with a frying pan
dude! i love lifetime movies! alota them are SUPER good! some are really scary like "hush little baby" (something like that) SO STINKIN SCARY!
well, you also ATE me... inwhich... that is why.... :)
i'd now like to bring you attention to the point that....taht made ABSOLUTELY ZERO sense. thankyou.
thanks for the plug. come one, come all, listen to Absolute Zero. Not to gloat, but whether we deserve it or not, we got nominated for "Asbury Park--Top Rock Band of 2002" along with 75 Five Summers! Check it out
heythat's awesome...congratulations!
wow that's really cool!
LOL! that was really funny, i totally didnt realize that.
ooh... you gotta come over here, we have some of the BEST snowboarder JW's in NJ. I have personally boarded with Todd, who is INSANE. Even the funky fresh is a good boarder, but NEVER follow him down a hill, because you WILL die...
haha... there's much better too. adam is amazing, and the whole warwick clan is supposed to be good, but that's just a rumor. they'll have to represent for me to believe it
hey what about us NY people, just cause we butt board down the hills u leave us out?
Yeah us warwick kids are the best! Well Jared is the best of us being able to pull off 540s no problem and i am unhurtable so I always do good
I'd just like to say that Jared and Luke Karas are some of the best, along with Adam McCord, Carl Jenkins and Eva Bonner. I love riding with them, it's inspirational. Adam (ekulu) it's amazing, some of the best feelings are gliding through thigh high powder in Canada or Colorado, where you can go in ANY direction, because there are no trees to hinder your freedom. That, and flying full speed down some fresh snow, or flying through the air doing a big shifty and chicken salad grab. I have to stop or I'm going to explode from excitement.
i suck. but i invented my own trick... so there!
me too. not the sucking part, but the inventing of a trick. my signature trick is the "Head Grab". Ask me about it sometime and I'll demonstrate.
Oh i'm so sorry , you're sooo good. anyway Mines the "Shifty Nugget", it's cute.. i show you one time.
haha... i'm proud to say, i saw the first time you did it. it was at killington 2 years ago right? yeah... it's pretty gay. but in a cool way.
what? thats not gay, its super-fresh. you watch, in a couple of years, everyone's gonna be doing it. This year, watch out for the one-footed, head grab.
yea, i "invented" a trick too....i've named it...."the spin" hahaha, i know giac's seen it...maybe joe too.
hmm all i have seen was the "face stuff" which basically is giac stuffing your face into the snow saying EAT IT... very odd trick
yea, i think we talked about that way back when on the musings....stinkin jerk. haha
is that when you get all ready to do a 360, wind yourself up, flail your arms then at the last minute don't do it and put your board back straight and hope you land on your feet? Cause I'm the master of that. I always tell people I meant to do a shifty.
this season I'm perfecting my spins, hopefully if I go out west...that way I can wipe out in 10 feet of powder.
take me in your luggage!
