uptight

katiedid by katiedid · Oct 30, 2002 · 208 views · · · Spastic

Ever think that if you could have everything your way, you might be considered a little uptight?

Like I sometimes fantasize about how I would really love to organize my paperclips at work. I hate having the small ridged, small smooth, large ridged, and large smooth all thrown into the same container. I mean, how on earth is anyone honestly going to be able to find the right one for the right task? But then on the other hand, I feel too self-conscious to organize them cause after all....they're only paperclips :)

Not odd at all!! At work..even if I have a million things to do, I feel this urge to organize the spoons. There are two containers..one for the small spoons and one for the long ones. However, people just throw them in there!! You grab three spoons and sometimes you get a variety of sizes and they're all facing different ways. It drives me crazy. I stood there once and fixed them..but then people were giving me weird looks so I stopped because I don't want to be fired because I was fixing spoons..

When I temped at Honeywell, I did the same thing... I had 2 styrofoam cups... one for large clips and the other for small clips. The colored ones got tossed in the trash... each cup was clearly marked...

you know what i used to do is wait till people went to lunch, then sit at their desks and link all their paper clips together, so when they got one they had to take them ALLL out...haha i'm pretty nuts!

Last monday I was organizing my paperclips and little black binder clips as I was complaining to a co-worker that my time is too valuable to be wasted fixing people's e-mail...She laughed so hard.

Sometimes i wonder what it would feel like to get shot and then get lemon juice poured into my wound. I figure it'd feel sweet and wonderful.... But then sometimes i think about dressing up as a taco and have a huge chiwaha chew at me..

obviously you people have never worked in an office!

thefunkyfresh thefunkyfreshFounder ·

actually, both of them have worked in an office for most of their working careers, as have i. but i dont know the diff either. in fact i hate paperclips.

katiedid katiedidFounder ·

I prefer smooth....all the time

why, what makes the difference?

sux2beme sux2bemeOG 2002 ·

isn't it obvious? if you're taking the papers apart alot, you use the smooth paper clip. if it's more permanent, or if you want to make sure important papers don't seperate (i.e. contracts, legal docs, etc.), you use the rigid paper clips. the rigid ones hold the pages together pretty well.

ridges also leaves smudges
