Who wants a masage?

web-toedchloe by web-toedchloe · Dec 10, 2002 · 352 views · · · Journal

By now it's no secret that I've decided not to pursue a degree in Architecture at NJIT. I am now toying with other options.

I love the paralegal work that I'm doing now, I could see myself continuing it for a long time to come. It's lucrative, relatively easy, with room for growth and flexibility. I could do it and support myself pioneering, which is really the point.

In what I consider a moment of self-servitude, as I was massaging a headache away for my boyfriend, he suggested I look into massage therapy. www.naturalhealers.com that talks about what kind of schooling and practice is required. What are everyone's thoughts? Which practice do you think would be more worthwhile? Has anyone pursued either?

I've often thought of doing that, especially to be able to support pioneering.

yeah, guys, me too...but I've never actually looked into it. Sorry I can't help ya, Diana, but I can't WAIT for you to rejoin the ranks!

yo let me say it would be REALLY easy to get married if you were a massage therapist. My friend Ali is one, but she moved to Wisconsin (and also she was too tall for me). My friend Holly is one too, but she's already married. And Ed is, but he's a guy. So I can't marry any of them. But you would think I would get more free massages than I actually do. It's messed up.

beachbum beachbumOG 2002 ·

Talk to Shari Stultz-she just finished school. She doesn't have a job at a place yet, but everyone in the cong. goes to her and she sets her own schedule. She is making $60 an hr so I would say if she keeps steady work, that it's pretty lucrative!

skaorsk8 skaorsk8OG 2002 ·

Can you send me her e-mail or phone number or give her mine? I haven't seen Shari in almost a year. Your wedding was the last time I said hello to her. Thanks for the tip. :)

If you're looking for a job that lets you have a flexible schedule yet you get paid well and have medical benefits, you should look into becoming an x-ray tech (of course, you need the stomach for it). It pays well and you can have a very good schedule whether you work at a hospital or at a private office. Unless you're not very smart, you can finish the course in 2 years maybe 3 depending if you have the pre-requisites. I did it and it's paid off.

deanh77 deanh77Founder ·

what? do you think you're smart or something? haha. I know you're smart.

web-toedchloe web-toedchloeOG 2001 ·

Jamie and Angela are doing that. I really don't have the stomach for any kind of medicine. Thanks, though.

katiedid katiedidFounder ·

can you stomach hairy, back-acned individuals?

ekulu ekuluOG 2002 ·

yea, just in case u have mike as a client one day

R
rocksupastarFounder ·

well so what? dont make fun of my nasty back... least i dont wear a diaper... or so says your picture...

thefunkyfresh thefunkyfreshFounder ·

i know, think of all the nasty people you'd have to touch

web-toedchloe web-toedchloeOG 2001 ·

Yeah, if I can do Donovan's hairy back, I can handle anything. (oops, did I share too much?)

skaorsk8 skaorsk8OG 2002 ·

you know what's messed up...you can't exactly shave your back...so hair taht's there, you can't do anything about it...

deanh77 deanh77Founder ·

man, I had a dream I was really really hairy, like I had fur on my chest. it was crazy. and it itched. this is really weird cause I have all of 2 chest hairs. just thought I'd share that with you all.

R
rocksupastarFounder ·

dude! so do i... i have just 2.. thats it.. i am the most non hairy guy on my chest... haha, i grow facial hair and what not, but no chest hair, i think somehting is wrong with me.

skaorsk8 skaorsk8OG 2002 ·

be thankful, my friend...chest hair is nasty...i utilize a razor to get rid of that junk

boredatwork boredatworkOG 2002 ·

I'm glad it was just a dream...haha

tesoro tesoroOG 2001 ·

thats funny, when i was still in HS, i was thinking of going into one of two things.....massage therepy or paralegal....i chose paralegal though. i think its more interesting, then just massaging people.

web-toedchloe web-toedchloeOG 2001 ·

It's so weird that we're doing the same thing! I do like paralegal work, but I want a change at the same time. Maybe massage will be better.

katiedid katiedidFounder ·

you should work in a big law firm and during lunch, you can set up and massage people on your break. it would definitely make for a nice working environment if everyone is relaxed and feeling good

forrestina forrestinaOG 2002 ·

my sister is a certified massage therapist-she used to work in a salon in our town...it was kinda hard to build up a good client base, but she did it for a while. she got too grossed out by the men saying stuff like--ohhh yeahhhh baby i wish i met you before my wife.
plus: it's considered bad manners to wear gloves so if you touch someone whose got bacne or shedding skin or anything gross like that you just have to keep on touchin em.
i would suggest goin to be a dental hygenist-some sisters that pioneer in my area do that and they make enough money to have their own apartment.
