school daze
Teachers can be some of the funniest characters...I had one in 6th grade-Mr. K (Kampman). He was at least 60 when my older sister had him and she's eight years older than me. He believed in bagel power....bagels give you the ability to accomplish anything. Mr. K was so on top of his game because of bagels.
He would say stuff in class like "poo on you" when you were bad. He also said "GAAABAGE" when people cursed or blasted rap or thing that weren't "proper." We did the funnest projects in his class. There were so many people at his retirement luncheon because everyone loved him so much.
Did anyone else have such memorable teachers?

i had this one teacher named miss bliss. she used to be in movies when she was younger. had a nice british accent. didn't really like people using cell phones in class though.
did you know the show was supposed to be all about her?
i had a computer teacher that i used to call mr. penfold...he looked like danger mouse's assistant 'penfold'
who the heck is danger mouse!
I never, saw, or heard of that mouse ever, the only mice i know of are the looney tune mice, and mighty mouse!
I think thats a lot before my time
i watched it when i was a kid... we're not that far apart in age
i didnt start watching tv till i was like 7 or 8, and it was just basic tc so if it wasnt on 2 4 7 or 11 i didnt see it
it was on Nickelodeon I think. I watched waaay too much tv as a kid.
Oh, then i definalty would have never known about it, we didnt get Nickelodean till like 98-99
same here...we used to have to stand by the tv and hold the rabbit ears so we could watch Electric Company (which by the way was the inspiration for No Doubt's "Hey Baby" video---see i'm just full of useless information) then my parents got a vcr and it changed our life i think we have the most taped from tv movies of anyone i know. The Little Mermaid was our first purchased movie and we practically wore out the tape.
ha ha
okay so i've been thinking back to my childhood a lot while im bored at work today
yeah, The Electric Company was soooo awesome! We're gonna turn it on... we're going to bring you the power!!!
Letterman takes the letter 'e' off his varsity sweater and makes a man... a mane!!!
you must not know tom kovach from dover hall. a whole closet of vhs tapes with movies from tv. floor to ceiling. organized.
lol we're pretty much the same...my anal retentive sister made a printable list in access that can be sorted by type of movie, tape number, or movie
morgan freeman was on EC...i used to watch the PBS ROCK-BLOCK...sesame street, electric company, magic garden, mr. rogers, and zoom
i loved all those shows...whenever i babysit i make the kids watch sesame street and zoom instead of nickelodeon shows...they are much more educational...i used to watch mr. wizard on nickelodeon though and that was like a super dry zoom
i forgot about mr. wizard! i used to always turn his show on about 4 mins before it was over...so i just got to see something blow up and whatnot
i used to get up early to watch it with my dad before he went to work...we also watched zoobalie zoo and mousercise
hahah i used to love Mr. Wizard and Zubilee Zoo!! they have a website!! http://www.zoobileezoo.com/
magic and wonder are waiting for you! (i killed that name trying to spell it lol)
Zubilee Zoo is the best! I have some tapes with it on!
im so jealous i wish i thought to tape it then
WHat do they got, a lot of sand? We got a hot carribean band....
You've got your looks, your pretty face, and don't underestimate the importance of body language.
WOW! Look at this, it's a dinglehopper!
haha, me and my sister had the book, and it came with a cassete tape, so we knew all the words to all the songs on it, we even made dances to some of them, our favorite dance we did was the jig...haha.. I think by far little mermaid is our all time favorite walt disney.
we were definiteliy obsessed. my mom bought us a book of the songs to play on our recorders. she also bought us a puzzle we did while we watched the movie. whenever we went in our pool we played mermaids and put diving rings on our feet to keep them together.
haha, HOly crap, we did that to with the diving rings...lol
awesome---i taught it to all the kids i babysit for so the next generation knows ;)
haha, little kids with rings around their feet and water sounds like a recipe for disaster!
no we were like fish my mom threw us in the pool to learn how to swim...actually i fell in in the winter and swam across under the cover so i could get out at the ladder and i had never swam before that
dude! thanks for the link...i'm in the mood for d/l
Poor deluded girl.... doesn't know Danger Mouse

lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oops, ok stef, maybe i AM too young for that... duh
yeah moron, that's mighty mouse. DANGER MOUSE was much much better. he was DANGER MOUSE! THE POWERHOUSE!!
danger mouse rock on...i loved him!
WHAT A COINCIDENCE!!! I'M EATING A BAGEL RIGHT NOW!!!
bagels definetely do have power. i used to need to have one every day and that semester i got A's in everything. they used to be my favorite food too. soo yummy.
i just remembered. i had a history teacher and his name was MR. K.
he was the dumbest old man alive. he loved our class though. since it was the last class of the day. i dont think i learned a thing in that class.
i had this history teacher in 6th grade. He was amazing. His name was Mr. Vogel and he had all these samuri swords in his room that we used to fight with. they were real too!! we only sparred though.
when we talked about war technology development of sparta he brought in a bow and we had to string it. nobody in the entire grade could do it.
then in medieval times he had a full suit of armor he would wear for weeks and wherever you were in the school, you could tell where he was.
He helped us build our own computers (that he got to keep for his room. only man in the regular school classroom with 28 computers.)
When you weren't passing, he offered this one kid a hunting stand since that was his favorite sport if he got a C for the marking period.
i think one of the best things about him though was how his heart was open to the truth. we would do about the nation of israel and the jews AND our history book actually said Jehovah!!! that made me so happy. then i would know all the books of the bible and he would let me explain the 10 plagues and the 10 commandments. he was very interested in religion but refused to give his thoughts in class so i always stayed after and talked to him. he never studied that i knew of, but he always took, read, and discussed the literature with me. i hope for one day he will.
