Mod Chips
by Ok this is an extremely technical journal...has anyone done any x-box mods (installing new chipsets) in order to play games burned on a CD-RW or DVD-RW?? Obviously this only applies to like 1% of the users on here, and I would have posted this in the musings but it would have gotten far too lost.
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

yea but plug in chips are not as effective. i mod'd my playstation and it was simple.
not complicated whatsoever. however all the 2003 games i rented picked up on the mod chip and didn't run. mod chips will always get outdated.. so i'm guessing plugin ones might be more worth it. maybe.

kinda both, truthfully. i keep seeing online that if you have a mod-ed x box or a copied game, you can't play x box live. that seems silly. i can get on the internet on my PC still after I've copied a music cd with my PC...and it's all micro$oft...makes no sense.
makes sense to me...having files on your hard disk is dif from changing a chip. xbox live probably uses some code from the chip, and the mod'd chips don't have that code

yea i know a few people w/ modded x-boxes, but they dont work w/ xbox live, which is why i didn't mod my own, since you have to flash your bios for it to work
