Religion Came Up.

VERY LONG, SORRY Here is a conversation I am having with someone Ive known for over a year. here and there we will get into religiuos discusions. Today I think was probably one of the most interesting, and I want to share it. It all started out by me saying Can you beleive Rob Zombie has a movie coming out, thats something I wouldnt Go see,, and he was Like Reall Why? Then we spoke a little and the question of satan came up, and so here we begin.


stefnyi: do you beleive in satan

HIM: nah

stefnyi: or you just think he's a made up thing

HIM: jsut a made up thing, waay back when people couldnt explain things then made up these things to explain the unexplainable...

stefnyi: but why

stefnyi: would someone try to mislead someone for soo long on a made up creature

HIM: i think a lot of it was a form of society control too..like keepin people in line...if u tell someone way back in the day that if they dont behave and stay inline then a nasty creature will get em...then they'll believe it (waaay back i'm sayin)

HIM: but then the stories stuck and got expanded on

HIM: over all the years

stefnyi: eh, i def disagree with you

stefnyi: but we've had different up bringings

HIM: u know what i'm sayin tho?

stefnyi: i know what your saying, but i think its a interesting accusation , cause if thats the case that could be the case with everything

HIM: ya a lotta peoeple disagree wit me on this type of stuff so its cool ;-)

HIM: i just think that a lot of religion is stories that over the years got blown way out of proportion and a lot of it was used to explain things that they didnt have the technology and stuff to explain

stefnyi: technology??

stefnyi: haha

HIM: u know what i mean

HIM: haha

HIM: couldnt think of the right word

stefnyi: so do you beleive in god or no?

stefnyi: and if yes why?

stefnyi: and if no why?

HIM: nope, but give me ur definition or ur view on what "god" is..might help me explain

stefnyi: if you beleive in the bible, and that it was inspired by god to write, then you will read that God is the creator of all earth and all living thing , the heavens above, the stars, the plants, the animals, creation, he is the creator. I beleive the evidence we have around us of stars and the eco system, and life, and animals, couldnt possibly be a result of a bang, were much to complicated of a creation and the systems of the eqarth are much to complicated for it all to happen by chance,

HIM: k, well i do believe that it is a pretty damn amazing thing..and i obviously dont have the brains to explain it enough to say somethin is right or wrong...but i also think that no one is able to say what is right is wrong and thats why these things/beliefs get created because it gives a sense of comfort to have a reason

stefnyi: why would man need comfort, if it didnt matter and if there were so many different ideas and so many diferent religions if it didnt matter anyway

stefnyi: why would something from so long ago, be a foundation for so many things today

stefnyi: you would think it would have disapeared by now , no?

HIM: i still think fear and unexplainability have a lot to do with it

HIM: nah, cuz its so big

HIM: such a big thing and there are so many people to convince...

stefnyi: unexplainability, but everything does have a logical and scientif explanation to it

stefnyi: everything

HIM: u try talkin to just one older person whos stuck in their way

stefnyi: even the shape of the earth,, YEARRSSSSS before galileio started saying its a sphere the bible said it was

stefnyi: YEARS BEFORE

HIM: no i know...i'm not sayin all of it isnt fact....

stefnyi: theres gotta be some truth somewhere

stefnyi: it cant all be made up

HIM: i'm jsut sayin theres a lot of stuff that got involved in there that isnt fact and is there for old thinkin type of reasons

stefnyi: haha

stefnyi: i duno

HIM: ok, i have an example of the "comforting" thing but anytime i say it someone rips my head off

HIM: so i dont know...lol

stefnyi: well go for it

HIM: uh oh..u sure? haha

stefnyi: im intereested in knowing how you think

stefnyi: cause this

stefnyi: is something we defff are different on

HIM: ya

HIM: k, well first let me ask somethin else...

stefnyi: k

HIM: cuz i dont hold someones beliefs against them or think any less of them because of what they believe in...cuz a lot of it is upbringing and just people bein different...but it seems like a lot of other people do, ya know? so do u? lol

stefnyi: hold it against people in what they beleive?

HIM: ya

stefnyi: no, thatd be stupid,,

but i also dont want people to not know what really is the solid truth. So I want to discuss and reason with them and show them the facts and they can decide if its right or wrong, cause after all how can you argue facts.. no one argues the fact were babys first, its a fact, facts cant be argued

HIM: no i know...its just a lot of people that i get into "discussions" with..dont even know the facts themselves

HIM: a lot of people just say...i believe it just becuase and thats no way to win an argument

HIM: lol

stefnyi: of course

HIM: oh and one question...

HIM: how can so many diff religions all be right?

stefnyi: how can a discussion be based if theres no facts

stefnyi: thatsss an excellant question

stefnyi: EXCELLANT

HIM: and how come they all say the other is wrong?

stefnyi: haha,, dude thats such a good question

HIM: and dont accept other people based on their beliefs?

HIM: NO ONE! and i do mean NO ONE has ever answered that

HIM: and thats a big reason why i dont buy it

stefnyi: ok

HIM: u find me one that everyone agrees on and i'll think bout agreein wit it

HIM: haha

stefnyi: well can i tell you how i see it

HIM: of course

HIM: :-)

stefnyi: the only way for a person to find out which is right and which is wrong is to do a thurough examination of the religion,, If the religion is engaged in immoral ways of life, consipiracy against other religions and acrditting there battles to god, when god is supposed to be love, right there that should make youstep back and thing, how can this religion be right if all the things they are preaching are things of hatred and things of immorality

stefnyi: how is that , there are 20 different religions all saying they are christians

HIM: ya

stefnyi: yet in iraland your 2 crhistian groups wantto kill each other

stefnyi: based onthere religiuos beleifs

stefnyi: when they both beleive to worship the same god

HIM: and i think a lot of people just believe things because they are told they are supposed to, again, its all upbringing

stefnyi: very true

stefnyi: but alot of people arent satisifed in what they have been brougt up thinking to know is right

HIM: and cuz people are afraid to question it

stefnyi: and so they doo search out the righ treligion so to speak

stefnyi: ya, some people are afraid to question there pastor or religiuos figure, which is wrong

HIM: ya

HIM: and thats why when i say what i thinlk they get so mad, cuz they arent confident in what they believe themselves

stefnyi: you should be satisfied to your bones that what you beilieve is really what you beleive, and so asking questions are part of that

stefnyi: that could be true

HIM: like if ur b/f is cheatin on u and u just dont wanna believe it but someone keeps sayin it...ur gonna get mad whether its tru or not

stefnyi: not confident or just dont know enough about there religion to back it up

stefnyi: who knows

HIM: ya

stefnyi: ya

HIM: anyway, me and colleen have "butted heads" on this a lot...

stefnyi: k

HIM: and i just say that whatever people need to believe in to make life a little easier and make things easier to deal with is a good thing and i wont argue with it

HIM: like the comfort thing i was sayin...

stefnyi: k

HIM: and the thing that everyone attacks me over....

stefnyi: k

stefnyi: haha

stefnyi: ok, so with that can i ask you something

HIM: everyone fears dyin and no one can explain what happens after u do....so its comforting to believe that when someone dies they are "at peace" and livin in a grand lovely heavan bla bla bla....so thats what i mean by whatever u gotta believe to ease things in life is cool

HIM: of course...ask away

stefnyi: ok,, actually i have to say i dont fear dying

HIM: well most people

HIM: and why dont u?

HIM: is it because of a belief?

stefnyi: why dont I fear dying

stefnyi: ?

HIM: ya

HIM: cuz a lot of people say they dont but thats cuz they have this "vision" of what happens based on their beliefs

stefnyi: haha

stefnyi: k

stefnyi: well yeah of course it has to do with what you beleive

stefnyi: of course

HIM: by the way, this is great...NO ONE has ever been able to calmly talk to me like this bout this..haha

stefnyi: ha

stefnyi: well

HIM: well then thats what i'm sayin, it just backs up what i said...ur beliefs ease things u cant explain right?
stefnyi: okay that reminds, this is what i was going to ask you

HIM: oh ok

HIM: shyt, after this point i gotta cut this short til after lunch cuz i gotta leave for lunch early for somethin

stefnyi: Iraq,, they beleive that whats going on right now is a holy war, and there fighting for god to kill the americans, becuase all they have ever been taught by saddam is am,ericans are bad, and ALA wants them dead, and they TRULY TRULY beleive this, and those suicide bombers and those who go and kill, and kill them selves to kill other people believe that 1) there doing this for god, and 2) when they die, they wil be reincarnated or , whatever they think is going to happen to them after death,, but does that make it right?? Does it sound right to you that what they TRULY beleive in to comfort themselves of the death there causing many people is right?

stefnyi: but when all religions teach god is a god of love, WHY would he want you to go to war killing other people

HIM: noooo, thats diff..ha...i always say thats belief to an extreme that is just obviously wrong

stefnyi: if they truly beleived in there god wouldnt you thinkg GOD would take care of it

stefnyi: but thats what they beleive

stefnyi: thats what christians beleive

stefnyi: those going to war

stefnyi: are killing and not afraid to die

stefnyi: because one they think god is behind them

stefnyi: and 2 they will go to heaven

stefnyi: so how can eaither or both be right

stefnyi: ?

HIM: no i actually say all of its wrong which is why i dont buy one bit of it...i just say that as long as ur not hurtin anyone, then believe what u want to make ur life easier

HIM: shyt...i really gotta go...dont forget what ur bout to say t ho

stefnyi: so are you saying that

HIM: sorry

stefnyi: are you saying that those who are supporting the war, even though not directly in battle, are okay , because they also beleive that this war is backed by there god, and that if anything happens to those troops is okay because they will go to heaven for killing other people,, in which they are supporting. But both claim god is a god of love.... it doesnt make sence...




But thats that so far,, its interesting right! im excited cause we have had discusions but they never went this far or this involved
