Pet Peeves

delliott101 by delliott101 · Dec 1, 2002 · Journal · 355 views

I was at Pathmark, McDonald's and the laundromat this morning and some pet peeves came

to mind... I don't know why, but I want to share them...

    At McDonald's:

  • Mickey D's advertises "Country fresh eggs" and all that... well, the guy who

made my breakfast poured "egg product" out of a 1/2 gallon container.  I

saw a stack of pre-made hotcakes in a bag. I think I'll sue...

  • A kid was there talking to an employee about how a cop pulled him over last night

because he was driving aggresively and doing 55 in a 35 zone.  This kid thought he

was justified in doing so becasuse he felt someone cut him off... no respect!

  • The employee was complaining, using some colorful language, about how his manager wants

him to scrape gum off the undersides of the tables.  He's ready to quit because of

it!  Wait til you get to the real world!

    At Pathmark:

  • Why are there ONLY TWO CHECKOUT LINES OPEN????

    The Laundromat:

  • Why is it that when I arrive, there are plenty of washers and dryers available when I

use the washer, but when I'm ready to dry my clothes, I have to scrounge for a dryer or

    two?

  • Why is it that ONLY WHEN I'M READY TO LEAVE WITH A BASKET FULL OF CLEAN CLOTHES that

someone decides to light up right by the door outside?

  • Oh, this is a good one, my clothes NEVER seem to get dry enough, no matter how long they

are in the dryer at high temp.

    In General:

  • If I talk to a single sister, everyone seems to assume I'm interested in her...
  • James Bond movies have become cliched (Okay, Die Another Day was not AS cliched, but

    still...)

  • Star Trek isn't as good as it used to be...
  • I go to the movies, pay $9.00 for a ticket and have to watch COMMERCIALS before the coming attractions...
  • When theocratic direction isn't taken... even after YEARS of reminders (District

Convention... hotel arrangements, no flash picture taking of the drama, do not cross

Hempstead Tpke, etc and that is the tip of the iceburg)

  • Cars aren't easy to maintain anymore
  • "Entertainment" has slid downhill...

AND MY BIGGEST PET PEEVE:

People who complain about their pet peeves!

  • NEW as of 12/4/02 Friends who say they will keep in touch, but NEVER do...
  • BTW... anyone out there have pet peeves of their own?

Another annoying thing about movies is the price of soda! Its rediculous that you pay 4 bucks for a size cup you get at mcdonalds for a dollar

    skaorsk8 skaorsk8OG 2002

yeah dude i'm seriously sick of listening to people vent all the time...because everyone should just be FOCUSED ON ME! (kidding)...anyway I have a pet peeve, and it's definitely how people in SUVs think they can drive however they want, just cause they get 8 miles to the gallon

    iwz iwz

    delliott101 delliott101OG 2002

Thanks Ian... yeah, there are a lot of othe rthings, like haughty people, fake people (you know.. not down to Earth and think they're something they aren't..) I'll proll add to this as I think of things

    boredatwork boredatworkOG 2002

I hate it when your job (like mine) can be pretty dangerous unless you take certain precautions and you tell people the rules to follow when in your department and they question you. gggggrrrr

    rocksupastar rocksupastarFounder

I hate that i cant play the guitar, i hate that i cant run as fast as i used to, i hate that i dont have eyes in the back of my head, i hate that i dont have those shoes that have the wheels on the bottoms of them, i hate that i have only 5 fingers on both hands, i hate that the words flip flop are cooler then the actual footwear....

    malibu malibuOG 2001

ahhaha. i have the sneakers with the skates on the bottom!! so hard to do though. you can try em next time mike.

    rocksupastar rocksupastarFounder

    ilikebirds ilikebirdsOG 2002

    i'm glad i'm superman

    skaorsk8 skaorsk8OG 2002

you are not superman. dean cain is superman. although, now that you mention it...the only person that could mate with superman would be wonder woman, cause...

    delliott101 delliott101OG 2002

Dean Cain was the worst Superman EVER!!

    katiedid katiedidFounder

    but the hottest

    malibu malibuOG 2001

dean cain was the BEST!! i used to watch that series all the time. i loved it! and when i stay home sick i still watch em at 10 o'clock in the morning on TNT (we know drama)

    delliott101 delliott101OG 2002

He was the sappiest person ever to put on the cape. First time I saw Lois and Clark I thought "Yeah, this guy is going to cater to the female viewers and not play Superman as he should be"... I was so right!

    skaorsk8 skaorsk8OG 2002

dude i met dean cain last week, he's pretty jacked...

    delliott101 delliott101OG 2002

Sorry... dunno what "jacked" means... but he was the wimpiest Superman EVER!!! Not heroic AT ALL!!! "Mom, Dad, what am I supposed to do?" "Use your super-powers, son..." "Oh, yeah... thanks!"

    magnum magnumOG 2001

haha dare i say it, he looked a little fruity!

    katiedid katiedidFounder

I hate it when you crack open an egg (like this morning) and you realize that it had been fertilized and youre staring at it realizing that it would have been a chicken if someone hadn't stolen the egg. Ugh, so annoying

    magnum magnumOG 2001

ok thats nasty, i never seen that!

    delliott101 delliott101OG 2002

Yeah, a brother I know when I was in Towaco years ago would ask whenever we went to the diner and someone would order eggs would ask "So, how's it feel to eat an abortion?"... ick!

    skaorsk8 skaorsk8OG 2002

i could never figure out where towaco was. it's like one of those mysterious places you can't locate, not that you really ever have any reason to know where it is. (mawhah is EASILY locateable, i'd like to add. all roads to go mahwah)

    deanh77 deanh77Founder

I live right near towaco. I used to drive to the towaco train station,(about 15 mins up 202).

    delliott101 delliott101OG 2002

You're not in the Morristown area anymore? Actually, I thought it was Randolph's territory, but of course, people DO move...

    deanh77 deanh77Founder

yeah, I move around a lot. boonton/mountain lakes now.

    skaorsk8 skaorsk8OG 2002

once, when i was back in high school, my friend called me and said "yo this hot girl invited me to a party!" I said, where is the party? He siad "booton!" I said..."where on earth is booton?!?" and he said "I have NO idea." So we played video games. Then, about a year after that, we finally found booton. We drove through it and we weren't impressed.

    deanh77 deanh77Founder

yeah, its nothing special. I live in a nondescript house with a wall seperating 287 from us in the backyard.

    delliott101 delliott101OG 2002

Right off of Rt 287... Montville area...

    tesoro tesoroOG 2001

ew, that was beyond stinkin repulsive. i didnt eat eggs for like 2 years cuz of that.

    thefunkyfresh thefunkyfreshFounder

i'm totally with you dave on the 9 bucks for a ticket. that's just rediculous. plus, you don't get a student discount on friday, saturday, or sunday! so whats the point of a student discount? what student can go to the movies during the week anyway? what a ripoff

    thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002

I was very distressed over that!! I WANT ROCKAWAY BACk!

    delliott101 delliott101OG 2002

Good news/bad news... good news is there will be a new theater at Rockaway Mall... Bad news it's supposed to be another Clearview Cinema

    thefunkyfresh thefunkyfreshFounder

the one in mansfield isnt bad, its just too expensive

    delliott101 delliott101OG 2002

With tiny theaters that are way overpriced

    iwz iwz

yeah that's so frustrating. i hate mansfield because of their $9 prices. and yeah, i miss the $3.75 and $4.25 of rockaway/cinema 10

    forrestina forrestinaOG 2002

there's a theater by me thats 4 bucks all the time but it only gets certain movies and the floor is ALWAYS sticky-and yet i still go there. if you're willing to catch a matinee most theaters have them for 6 bucks still. there's also a theater by me that decided it was going to be 6 bucks all the time so that it would get more business. i only see certain movies in the theater nowadays like action or scifi-things like that. most of the time i wait for them to go to the cheap theater or rent them with friends and get to watch it in my pajamas eating pizza or something. old movies are better than new ones anyways-i mean who doesn't want to watch Goonies for the millionth time?!

    thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002

Interesting..THE $4 theater? Who are you?

    malibu malibuOG 2001

i was just gonna ask the same thing. cuz there is that one in hackesttown we like to frequeate.

    forrestina forrestinaOG 2002

    im in hackensack/paramus, NJ area
