punkprincess punkprincessOG 2001

seaside was JR prom... wildwood is SR. duh! everyone knows that :-D

delliott101 delliott101OG 2002

For mine, Seaside was Senior Prom... I have to back Forrestina on this one...

punkprincess punkprincessOG 2001

oh, that would have been prolly for south edison... north edison was that way.

delliott101 delliott101OG 2002

I broke tradition and went to Boston anyway--but in Parsippany it was always Seaside

forrestina forrestinaOG 2002

yeah i think you're right-my school did the same thing

web-toedchloe web-toedchloeOG 2001

The one about Z-100 then K-Rock being the fav radio stations is so true. Remember when Z-100 was cool?

delliott101 delliott101OG 2002

Heh... when it started in '83 it was sooooo awesome. It used to be WVNJ ("Beautiful music... W V N Joy!").. the original Zoo was the hot diggety dog!

web-toedchloe web-toedchloeOG 2001

Here's another fun fact: I was born in '83. Hehe. Chew on that. ;)

forrestina forrestinaOG 2002

lol ditto on that one girl

delliott101 delliott101OG 2002

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..... I know... I KNOW!!!! I graduated in June of '83

forrestina forrestinaOG 2002

my friends and i listened to z100 all the time. we were constantly trying to be caller 100...i would get in the 90s it was so frustrating. we also dedicated songs to each other like "How do you talk to an angel." recently ive had some z100 days because i only have a radio in my car-no tape deck, no cd player.

legs legsFounder

z100's been around forever! I was talkin to my mom the other night and she said she was caller 100 "back in the day" and got a hundered bucks

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002

I remember trying to be cool in 6th grade (having a HS sister made me cool before my time) and trying to get people to listen to K-rock but they thought I was dumb for not listening to Z100 and wearing Roxy clothing 4 years too early.

C
crazygirlOG 2001

ok4now ok4nowOG 2002

legs legsFounder

we were the ones w/ the contaminated water too...maybe that explains it

ok4now ok4nowOG 2002

whatever happened to Action Park?

forrestina forrestinaOG 2002

lol all i know is WAYYY too many people got really seriously injured there

ok4now ok4nowOG 2002

yeah, but that's what i loved about it. they had these cement chutes that ran down the mountain...and you rode these little scooters. if you went too fast, you fly off the path. it was EXCELLANT!

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002

They have that at Cammel Back's little water park. I did it last summer

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002

JULIE! Look..we talked about this today..didn't we? or maybe we didn't..but I love NJ! Snow and the Ocean..and the city! Perfect

delliott101 delliott101OG 2002

A couple of more:

You, or someone you know, went to school with either Springsteen, Sinatra, Piscopo, Bon Jovi or one of the Four Seasons

You can tell what part of the state someone is from by listening to them talk (or tawk)

The Stone Pony is a mecca for NJ bands

"Aha ha ha... Raceway Park!"

You know that "Al Q is your club and concert calendar"

You know that before Great Adventure, there was Palisades Park (the amusement park, not the town)

You know that the Texas Weiner was NOT invented in Texas, but in New Jersey

ok4now ok4nowOG 2002

yawn

punkprincess punkprincessOG 2001

i dont know if ive said this before on here, but my aunt dated bruce springstine and my brother (joe) had friends that were friends with bon jovi, and hung out with him once or twice.

flyingfree1125 flyingfree1125OG 2001

wow your practcally related!!

delliott101 delliott101OG 2002

My point is proved!

ok4now ok4nowOG 2002

my wife worked for the dentist for bon jovi. she's actually worked on his pearly whites!

beachbum beachbumOG 2002

haha. I can't believe how much of this stuff is true. And my grandmother's first cousin was married to Sinatra.

ok4now ok4nowOG 2002

so i was at the diner last night and guess who was there...Ashton Kurcher and his girlfriend Brittany Murphy! our waitress was all giddy and nearly had a nervous breakdown.

delliott101 delliott101OG 2002

I looked at the imdb entries and still have no idea who these people are...

ok4now ok4nowOG 2002

never seen That 70's Show? or Dude Where's My Car? or Clueless? or commercials for 8 mile?

skaorsk8 skaorsk8OG 2002

ok britney murphy looked much better in that picture on imdb than she did in clueless...."Stop sign? i TOTALLY paused!"

delliott101 delliott101OG 2002

Uh... no... not much time for prime time TV or mindless movies anymore... sorry!

thefunkyfresh thefunkyfreshFounder

weren't you all into bond and all?

ok4now ok4nowOG 2002

thanks ff

delliott101 delliott101OG 2002

Yeah, but I think there is a major difference between that an Dude, Where's My Car...

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002

Dude Where's My Car..quality movie

ok4now ok4nowOG 2002

i don't know if 'quality' is the right word...but it was definitely sphincteriscious

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002

That's the coolest thing ever. Ashton Kurcher!!! I love him! And then? And then you put it in a paper bag and place it in my hand cause im ready to eat!

deanh77 deanh77Founder

Annddd thennnnn????

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002

Look! I'm sick of your chinese food mind games

ok4now ok4nowOG 2002

that's hilarious...i've got to buy that movie.

malibu malibuOG 2001

*>gasp*< i love brittany murphy so much. at the mtv awards she had me crackin up with anthony keidis from red hot chili peppers. although i don't find the attraction of ashton kurcher. funny cute but not cute.

rocksupastar rocksupastarFounder

I dunno about the buttered roll thing, but, cream cheese!!!!!! wohooooooooooooooooooooo

skaorsk8 skaorsk8OG 2002

ok i did a count...i live within 45 minutes of 9 malls. Count em. Garden State, Paramus Park, Bergen Mall, Fashion Center, Rockaway, Willowbrook, Nanuet, and Palisades. I can ALMOST make it to Jersey Gardens and Woodbridge Center in 45, but it's closer to 50. Dang.

mandie mandieOG 2001

wow. everyone lives in nj. :) all i got is Al Bundy grew up in a town right next to me. whooopy doo.

ilikebirds ilikebirdsOG 2002

did you really see ashton and brittany? at what diner ????? i love al bundy. i love number 30, i two it at least twice a day. and maybe 4 times on sunday. and ... jack black was filming a new movie out in front of my buddies house. last week. chew on them tablets.

ok4now ok4nowOG 2002

yep...rt 27 edison, across from pines manor

malibu malibuOG 2001

this reminds me. brad pitt and jenifer aniston used to have a house up in lake mohawk (which is 17 minutes away) and deanna would always tell me that when she got up to go jogging, sometimes she would see mr. pitt.

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002

he is very good looking

malibu malibuOG 2001

ahhaha especially when he eats.

ok4now ok4nowOG 2002

?

skaorsk8 skaorsk8OG 2002

he was eating the WHOLE time in ocean's 11. I'm suprised he's not a lot fatter.

malibu malibuOG 2001

that's what i was thinking also since they have to do each scene so many times to get it right. all those takes with food, and food, and food, and food.

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002

they can and usually do spit the food out after they seem to eat it. I remember on Fresh Prince once, Hillary was doing a coffee commercial. She didn't know you were supposed to spit it out and she drank like a million cups.

malibu malibuOG 2001 thatdarngirl

wasn't that part of the story-line though and she was supposed to drink all of that stuff.

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 malibu

Well yeah that was part of the funniness of that episode but they pointed out how you're not supposed to do that

delliott101 delliott101OG 2002

Yeah, it must have been great for concession stands in theaters all around the fruited plain... lots of munchies being moved...

forrestina forrestinaOG 2002

on my way into work today i came up with another one....you drive 50 mph in bumper to bumper traffic

punkprincess punkprincessOG 2001

hahahaha thats so true, seriously i know this is going "against my kind" or whatever.... but i have to admit it... NJ drivers are the worst... unpredictable, and just crazy drivers in the US!!

forrestina forrestinaOG 2002

i totally agree with you though...today this guy in a big truck cut across 3 lanes of traffic without even looking while on his cell phone AND eating

deanh77 deanh77Founder

hahaha. that's awesome!!

forrestina forrestinaOG 2002

yeah and who hasn't seen someone do that....i've seen guys shaving while driving even one brushing his teeth---maybe i'm uninformed but i didn't think there were spittoons in any make or model of any car

malibu malibuOG 2001

oh i beg to differ. there is our lovely window. (jk i know its wrong.)

forrestina forrestinaOG 2002

just hope that the wind is going in the right direction
