Four hours Fifty-nine minutes:
Longest Men's Singles Match at Australian Open
since 1971!
I don't know if you care about tennis, but I used to play
all the time, and it was a great passion of mine. Yesterday, I caught the 4th
and 5th sets of the Australian Open Semi-Final match between Younes El Aynaoui
from Morocco and Andy Roddick from USA.
When I turned the game on, the announcers were saying it
was a 'game for the ages'...and it was still the 4th set! Little did they know
how the 5th set would turn out.
The box score from this match rivals the best World Series
extra inning games or overtime Football Playoffs or Stanley Cup Finals.
These guys played near perfect tennis for close to five hours!

good marathon and the best waste of a day!
my memOrable sports moment is when, while playing stickball (that's what we do in the bronx when not running from the police) i hit a tennis ball out of the park across the street and onto the roof of my building, which is seven stories. I still have the ball and it's dated. it was a friday the 13th, not that that means anything...
