Shyamalan & Howard courtesy of Yahoo! Movies
M. Night Shyamalan's creative genius has brought the box office dollars rolling in, the critics buzzing, and a new following of admirers.
Grossing $ 50.8 million in its opening week alone and kicking back close contenders down the box office list.

Many will find that with Shyamalan's, The Village he explores new territory.
This is an impressive feat for any director, yet it shows a great deal of integrity as well as ingenuity. Night, seems to have intentionally steered away from average errie- generally supernatural, or outerworldy themed "cult classics".

In The Village... the talented writer/director has gone for a more traditonal psychological thriller (non-demonic/otherworldly themed).
Using this new methodology Shyamalan allows the veiwer's imagination to runaway with them creating an intense atmosphere. Along with Night's own creativity, the casting is excellent Joaquin Phoenix & Bryce Dallas Howard are amazing.

New Howard hits it big!

Bryce Dallas Howard portrays Ivy Walker in M. Night Shyamalan's The Village. Ivy is a unique character that although blind, is strong willed and independant. Is Ivy any reflection of Bryce?
For now Bryce is mentioned as the child of another skilled director, father Ron Howard.
As an incredibly gifted young talent, Bryce will soon be making her own name in the film industry.
Although many times siblings, children, or friends to the stars ride the coattails of their industry connections, Howard truly holds her own on screen.

Aside from holding her own Bryce has admitted to having a genuine respect and love for the craft.
Another project is already in the works, so we certainly have not seen the last of Bryce Dallas Howard and we'll assume the "the best is yet to come".

No I wrote it myself.

i wanna see this. signs was scary but i still loved watching this and even though i don't know anything about this movie except a crumble, that makes it so much more interesting because i hate it when previews give away the story.

All his movies do that, I think. That's why I was excited about this coming out, even though I haven't seen it yet.

you call this "new methodology" but didn't all the older movies do this? They made you feel the prescence of an evil entity, but never really showed you the whole thing. When I say old, I'm not refering to all those old B movies that have the most fake looking aliens and junk in them. I'm talking Alfred Hitchcock style. In Psycho, you never really saw "the murderer", it was not until the end that all was revealed (very similar to Signs). Anyway...just a thought....and I'm starting to lose my focus, so I'll stop talking here.

Nope, here.

superhero superheroOG 2004

what about "jaws"? you never saw the shark until nearly 45 minutes into the movie. that helped to build up the suspense.

I love M. Night's movies. He's an amazing director. His method of pacing is untouachable. He lets his movies breathe. I have yet to see the Village. Soon, I will.

And it seems I've been replaced! A new and more in-touch movie buff has arrived!

juicymango juicymangoOG 2003

perrin perrinOG 2004

reaf reafOG 2002

This movie didn't live up to my expectations.
I think it's probably better to read the book.
It kinda bored me, and wasn't really suspencfull, it was more lovey.

juicymango juicymangoOG 2003

heh i knew you wouldn't like it

it was sorta similar to another movie that i loved and you hated

reaf reafOG 2002

Ya it was okay, I just think it would have been better to read than to see. The story line was an interesting one.

rocksupastar rocksupastarFounder

I fell in love with Lucious pretty much instantly. And Ivy was awesome. I love how Shyamalan makes you realy care about his characters pretty much immediately. It's great.

perrin perrinOG 2004

Yeah I know I thought the scene where Ivy's sister comes to him and pours out her heart and he just looks at her was so great. I was cracking up.
And Ivy man she was awsome.

yodasucka yodasuckaOG 2003

haha yea and the next scene when shes crying haha i def laughed shes like "we could be married!" and he just looks at her and doesn't say a word

perrin perrinOG 2004

Yeah I think that was one of my favorite parts of the movie. lol

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003

QUICK! NEW NEWS ITEM! i can't look at M. Night's face anymore and i won't even comment on that Bryce Howard chick!

sunshyne sunshyneOG 2004

yeah she totally looks like someone else, but i cant figure it out and its bugging me.

icescream22 icescream22OG 2004

I deff don't think it was as scary as some of his other movies but, I thought it presented an interesting idea.... I think he should now explore what happens next in the lives of these ppls children...can they keep up the lie? Will they? It would be awesome if he came out with a Village II!

legacy legacyOG 2004

hmm now we would have the blind girl terrorrizing the other people or her own kids lol hi dena, yea M night is in everyone of his movies, he makes it a point to be.

perrin perrinOG 2004

Well I finally saw "signs" on friday night with some friends and while it wasn't as scary as people made it out to be I really enjoyed it.
