SUV Crash

One of our fellow eZablers had a pretty crazy accident over the last week. Check out the email I got from IceScream22 and the pics below. Looking at the car its amazing that they didnt have any serious injuries.
She writes, "Yea, me & corinne are ok. It was a pretty bad accident tho.
I was driving to a going away party for a friend at like 8:00 pm on the 30th of Oct. with my sis & it was lightly misting out. I was getting off 23south onto 46w when i lost control of the suv & slide across a whole lane. As soon as we hit the curb the truck just flipped over & started rolling, it rolled about 4 times & finally stopped at the bottom of the embankment in a muddy ditch on it's side.
We were both in our seatbelts so we were ok but pretty shaken up. We climbed out my window & jumped off the side of the truck & then walked up to the road to get help. My purse was open when we were rolling so i didn't have any of my things including my cell phone, so we had to flag someone down. We were standing there waving for at least a half hour before someone stopped to see if we needed help. After that
the police & ambulances & even a fire truck came. They had to close down a whole lane & get reports & pull our truck outta the ditch. When that happened we went over & got as much stuff out as possible. We didn't go to the hospital in the ambulances but later, when my mom came, she took us both to the hospital. Corinne ended up with a sprained neck & I had a bump on my knee. The doctor was amazed when he heard what had happened. Everyone said we were really lucky.
So, everything is ok now except for my poor truck!!! "
Hope everyone is feeling better now Dena, oh and all the eZabel women, you guys really should work for a stunt driving company. eZabel accidents by women are ALWAYS very spectacular!!!! oh yes, bring on the flaming...

OMG I have to call Den & Corrine!
I've ridden in that SUV, I'm soooo glad they're okay.

My biggest fear is driving into water.
I agree, that is very scary... and not much you can do if you get stuck in your car with the windows up...
You guys have it pretty good...you have a nice long farmy scenic drive to your assembly hall. For those of us that meet at Stanley we have to cross several long bridges. This is also my fear. Not my dying so much but, my grandmother can't swim she can only float and my sister and I have wondered how long we could keep her afloat. :-(
My mom can't really swim either! Like, I'm a pretty strong swimmer but..its just getting her out of the car and up to surface. Freaks me out so much.
And if the windows are up you have to wait until the whole car fills with water before opening the doors. So terrifying.
I'd most certianly smashed the windows, hold my breath, let the water fill, and get outta there. I'd never go out like that.
You're supposed to roll your window down. If you have electric windows, you can request a tiny glass hammer from your insurance company to keep in your glove compartment. It lets the water in slowly.
If you smashed the windows when you're already underwater you'd never get out because the water pressure coming in would make it impossible until it was equal.
I'd let it fill.
yea there is.. you wait until the inside of the car is totally submerged .. .take your last break.. once the pressure is equalized you should be able to open the door.
or think quick enough .. that as you're going into the water.. you roll down your windows... your electrical system should hold out.. a truck doesn't sink immediately.
That's what I said. Copycat.
not if you have roll windows
wow! that IS bad! Awesome pictures tho ;)
Mucho sucko. I'm glad everyones ok. I'm shocked they weren't taken to the hosp. The car is in remarkably good shape for a nasty roll down an embankment. The windows are ok, most of the body is ok. I don't know if you'd call that totalled. Maybe it is. Scary stuff. People need to stop right away when they see people waving their arms on the side of the road. Apathy is an epidemic.
yea, the truck isn't too bad & my dad might get it fixed if there
isn't anything internally wrong with it. I loved that truck so i hope it's fixable!
holy cow!! thats pretty nuts...im glad theyre alright
hmm good week for accidents, friend wrecked his SI going to upstate ny and i crashed my work truck all within a few hours on saturday. Although they get the win with a roll over of the truck.
Wow i can't believe it. I'd call but i don't have their #..
Glad you girls are ok! Now, when you say it kept rolling, do you mean it kept flipping over and over ... holy crap that musta been soooo scary!
no, it was rolling....thats why the sides are messed up.
yeah but by rolling do you mean rolling OVER and OVER?
It probly rolled like 3 or 4 times....I actually don't remember the details of us actually in the process of rolling but my sister does & thats what she says happened. I only really remember when we hit the curb & then stuff flying around us & then just coming to a stop on our side.
Ok, YIKES!
this is crazy. that being said i'm jealous.
Can always fix car bodies. Human bodies are harder to fix.
Just glad u girls came thru OK.
Now, as far as the cost for repairs... :(
Luv ya,
Dad
