The "I would die of grief" option is a bit tricky. I doubt people have any real control over if they die of grief or not but it can happen.

juicymango juicymangoOG 2003 ·

I've heard of elderly couples, when one dies, the other dies a few days/weeks later of grief. :( so sad

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 ·

Yeah, I know. It's because of the power the brain and your psychological status has over your immune system. It's just very very sad because it really is dying from a broken heart.

tesoro tesoroOG 2001 ·

yea, both of my sets of grandparents..died w/in like 2 months of eachother. and thats what everyone said, it was because of a broken heart. :(

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

yeah, look at Johnny Cash and his wife. They went within months of each other.

beachbum beachbumOG 2002 ·

This poll IS horrible, even though there is the possibility of it happening

juicymango juicymangoOG 2003 ·

Yeah this poll is really horrible, i'm actually surprised it got approved! haha.. but yeah it's something i think everyone thinks about once in a while, any day your mate could die in a car accident right? Ughhh... SO scary.. :(

"It would be hard to imagine marrying someone else, but if it happens it happens"

that's not really an answer at all...

yodasucka yodasuckaOG 2003 ·

so if u got remarried... and u, ur first husband/wife, and ur second husband/wife all end up making it into the new system... who would u be with??

thefunkyfresh thefunkyfreshFounder ·

didn't Jesus address this? I believe he said that resurrected ones don't marry

D
dgiaimoOG 2003 ·

Yeah. It's at Matthew 22:23-33, Mark 12:18-27, and Luke 20:27-40

yodasucka yodasuckaOG 2003 ·

hm... ok from now on i will research BEFORE posting haha but yea, now that u mention it, it does sound familar...

D
dgiaimoOG 2003 ·

But this way is more fun. :) I love doing research on this stuff.

yodasucka yodasuckaOG 2003 ·

LOL well then... i'll just have u do it all for me hahah

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 ·

As in they are no longer married or they won't be allowed to marry?

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 ·

That is the question! No one I know has ever came up with an answer for that one. Actually, my one friend just said that there would be no marriage in Paradise..but I don't think that's the right answer soo.

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 ·

And now that I read Matt's answer..maybe that IS the right answer.

tinser tinserOG 2002 ·

no, i think it's just resurrected ones who wont be able to be married...like if you and your husband both live through the end...you'll still be married

T
toxicgirlOG 2003 ·

I don't think that's the answer either. Jehovah was the originator of marriage in the garden of eden and that was a paradise.

juicymango juicymangoOG 2003 ·

Yeah i just don't think we have the answer to that right now. Marriage is, however, "till death parts us"... so i duno. It's interesting, it's gonna be interesting to see what happens.

iwz iwz ·

yeah, that's true, the bible does say specifically that death releases a man or woman from the marriage bond.

juicymango juicymangoOG 2003 ·

SO then I wonder if we'll be able to "re-marry" our mate. I duno, I just couldn't imagine waking up in a meadow petting lions and tigers .... and seeing my husband married to someone else. That's kinda funny tho when I put it that way, cos ... dangit i'd be ALIVE AGAIN petting lions and tigers and about to start living forever in a paradise earth and all that good stuff!! SO MUCH TO DOOOOO and SEEEE!!! hahaha... I know Jehovah will make sure that we are all happy and that all our needs and wants are fulfilled. So I know it will be ok. I hope it comes soon so, if all goes well, we can live thru it together. If not, ... I have complete faith that Jehovah will make sure we're both happy and taken care of, whatever that may be.

juicymango juicymangoOG 2003 ·

AND... would I want my husband to live out the rest of his days alone? Would he want taht for meee?? holy crap, this is a crazy thing to think about. Kinda like how the universe is immesurable. Boggles me.

skaorsk8 skaorsk8OG 2002 ·

yeah. and also, when did time start?? at some point, jehovah created time. but what was before then? i don't know....wow

ilikebirds ilikebirdsOG 2002 ·

jehovah is time. once someone reaches immortality.. they no longer depend on jah for life

iwz iwz ·

actually, man invented time. it's purely a figment of our imaginations, and depends completely on perspective and point of view.

skaorsk8 skaorsk8OG 2002 · iwz

actually - i don't think that's right, ian. Jehovah created time. The bible speaks of Jehovah making, during creation, a division between night and day - hence, TIME.

(I know you're gonna debate this until you're blue. so just admit i'm right. and no calling in dean to help. that's cheating.)

ilikebirds ilikebirdsOG 2002 · skaorsk8

well creating 'divisions' isn't really creating time. i have an apple pie.. and i cut it in half.. is it going to take me a longer or shorter amount of time to eat it ??? no.. it's still there in full. so "time" is still all around us , it's basically existence. We've placed labels on it.
And you can't have milk.

skaorsk8 skaorsk8OG 2002 · ilikebirds

dude soymilk is just as good if not better

deanh77 deanh77Founder · skaorsk8

HEY!!! I kinda agree with you Dan. I don't really know the answer, but even if time is only an experience of humans, Jehovah created in us the ability to experience that, so he created time.

But I tend to think that time is a concrete thing, a measurable dimension, from all the physics junk I've read. Also Jehovah is a God of order, and his plan for us is hinged on timely prophecies.

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 · iwz

That makes me nervous and I don't like thinking about it.

ilikebirds ilikebirdsOG 2002 ·

i just hoping that god reinstitutes the heirem. so that way if my baby dies.. i can marry another.. and then have DOS in the paradise..

juicymango juicymangoOG 2003 ·

yeah that actually is a pretty sweet idea...

skaorsk8 skaorsk8OG 2002 · juicymango

you guys are horrible.

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

i don't think harems or swinging will be allowed in the new system, you cretin!

juicymango juicymangoOG 2003 ·

For some reason everytime I tried to "reply" it said Error On Page. I duno. Anyways, I thought that the "resurected ones don't marry" thing applies to the annointed, and that we don't really know what's gonna happen with those not annointed. Kinda like we don't know if we're gonna eat meat or not. Or where wer'e gonna live. Or how we're gonna clean up the earth. Or whether or not there will be cars. That's why I wondered if people think about what they would do....

juicymango juicymangoOG 2003 ·

And as far as the "if it happens it happens" option.. um, I guess I was thinking, you're not categorically saying NEVER MARRY AGAIN but you dont think it's likely.. but if you found someone you maybe would get married. Haha, yeah it's not an answer at all.

ilikebirds ilikebirdsOG 2002 ·

I'd be crushed if my wife died. I'd probably cry. I think a man has only two reasons to cry when he's older... lets say.. 21... if his mom dies.. and if his wife dies.. otherwise . suck it up. and be strong for others.

skaorsk8 skaorsk8OG 2002 ·

i don't think that's a good idea. all this being strong. what does it accomplish? you don't get big muscles from it, that's for sure. probably, you get some mints at the end. thanks for playing.

esprit15d esprit15dOG 2003 ·

At first I thougght you were messing around with a tinge of machismo, but are you really that bothered by men crying?

ilikebirds ilikebirdsOG 2002 ·

i'm definately not bothered by it. but if i see some grown man crying over something stupid... like losing his shoes... i'm just gonna look at him like a fool... lose a little respect for him.... so i'm really not disgusted by it or anything, just dont expect empathy or sympathy from me.
And yes I do think it's a weakness... and everyones has or HAD it. i'm done.

esprit15d esprit15dOG 2003 ·

my weakness is dark chocolate

ilikebirds ilikebirdsOG 2002 ·

and if you're under 21.. cry all you want. you're still a boy

I'm not even married and this poll makes me feel so sad.

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

true. made me sad as well.

starshiptrooper starshiptrooperOG 2003 ·

this is a *reality poll*.
i've seen this happen( the loss of a mate) far too many times this year.
accidents, sickness.
if it were to happen to US I hope it would be ME to die cause I'm not emotioanlly stong enough to handle it if HE did.
and, anyway, the single sisters would be all over Nick in a sec and he'd be better off anyway.

beachbum beachbumOG 2002 ·

hahaha i like the new option-find the one that got away. you are so horrible

bizarret bizarretOG 2003 ·

sounds to me like you're planning on killing your husband...

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 ·

Bis- Kill Your Boyfriend

fun song!

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

BIS RULES! i wish they'd stop making songs for the Cartoon Network tho. we need some coool new stuff!

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 ·

They do indeed. My sister got to hang out with them once after a show because their manager saw her shirt and was like "wow..Manda has the same one" and invited her back to hang out with them.

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

now THATS cool. i wanna meet Bis! such interestin' music.

ophelia opheliaOG 2003 ·

hmm..this would speed up the whole us getting married process....listen to the song more!!..maybe it'll brainwash you into obeying it's lyrics..haha

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 ·

Okay! I shall do that right now.

ophelia opheliaOG 2003 ·

this...is a HORRIBLE thought....the thought alone of finding the love of your life, & just losing'm in the blink of an eye, not cool @ all...it's funny this poll's here..@ work today I spoke on the phone w/a customer who mentioned that her hersband had passed, I instantly fealt SO feakin sorry for her, bummed me out for a lil bit

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 ·

Yah know..I clicked that link because I was confused and thought it brought me to some other poll you were talking about. It didn't.
