just try reinstalling it from www.divx.com.
I dunno, I just tried to import a divx file in Movie Maker in Vista, and it worked fine. But who knows, maybe it's different in Vista.
do you have the full divx codec installed?

Adobe Premiere Elements can do everything you need, I think. They have a free trial, try it out.

it looks like an interview by and for scientologists shown during an awards ceremony. it's serious.
i think he basically says nothing because he's speaking to an audience of other scientologists. they already "know" what he's talking about. he also referenced all kinds of scientologist...
i haven't done much video editing, but if you just want to do simple things (like cutting), you could just edit the DivX directly with VirtualDub.
