no, focaccia is a bit harder, and the onion is usually baked into it. a bialy has the consistency of a roll. and the onions are just laying in the center of it. (the center is almost completely hollowed out)

I wondered if it was a Polish thing - I've never lived in an area that had a high Polish or Jewish population, so I guess that's why I've never heard of it. That made me feel a little better.
haha, i know, i was surprised i was familer with something you've never heard of. (and, yea, there is A LOT of jewish people in LI)
