Seriously i read these ingredients and that's like me saying to some italian cook to make pasta with prego. Olive oil? Turkey? CELERY?!! AHHHHHHHHHH!! KILL ME!!!!

tesoro tesoroOG 2001

haha, there's nothing italian about this meal, other then the olive oil. (which is completely unnecessary anyway)

hunkpapap hunkpapapOG 2003

no what i meant was, the same way you'd say it's not italian or not right to make REAL pasta with prego, this is not at all the real way to make this. The REAL way is with lamb. But the americanized way is spiced beef. I can't even fathom what it is like with turkey. WHy would some schmuck change it so much and still call it this?

tesoro tesoroOG 2001

ohhh oh. hahaha yea, i see what you're saying. you're right. turkey is just healthier than beef. one day i'll make it with lamb. but honestly it turned out really good.

but i have had real shepherds pie w/ lamb at an irish pub, mine def. couldnt compare to it.

i'm actually sure yours was quite good, just like i like prego or ragu. I just think the woman who gave you the recipe has to die...

tesoro tesoroOG 2001

hahaha. i'm sorry to frustrate you so.

but it's so funny how annoyed you are getting, cuz it's exactly how i get when; like you were saying, people make pasta w/ ragu. lol

socalgal socalgalOG 2003

i get the same way when some say they made the best tacos and made them with the store bought, premade tortilla taco shells.

i may not cook much but my mexican food is down home!

tesoro tesoroOG 2001

hahaha, i just made tacos last week, and we all thought there were great. (with store bought taco shells) lol i have no clue how to make them from scratch.

socalgal socalgalOG 2003

HAHAHA its so easy. i'll ezmessage ya.

tesoro tesoroOG 2001

awesome! thanks!

No, no, create a new thread. I want to know how to make them too! Mike's mom actually taught me her recipe a long time ago, but she was adamant about how I couldn't do it without a cast iron skillet. Weird. I'm sure I could. Anyway, post that thread!

cast iron skillet? um no you can totally make them in a regular frying pan.
