the realest deal, so to speak, would be something the directly inputs into your car stereo. if you have an aftermarket face with line-in jacks, you're golden - the cable costs $5 and you're done. ...

Whoah whoah! Run this by everyone again please, in simpler terms. My CD player is not factory installed..I could easily get an Ipod thingy that would play it directly?

most head units have some sort of Auxiliary Input. Aiwa ones are even nicer in that they put the aux input on the front of the head unit, but most have them on the back. You can plug in a headphone wire into your iPod, and the other end into the head unit directly, or into an RCA cable converter and go from there.

depends on your head unit.

PROTIP: Head phone wires are known as "stereo mini". You can use a male to male Stereo Mini cable to do the job.
