it's probably comparable to where you live. manhatten isn't too bad. i'm sure you won't be too shocked. much faster pace, though.
just bigger, prolly dirtier, and taller buildings
new york is not that bad. i love going there. maybe i'm just used to it but nothing ever bothers me. the subway system is just really hard to navigate.
nah once u get a hang of it, its easy... just memorize the train letters and where they go
and don't evade the fares! ($60 fine!)
and jail. i know of someone who spent over night in jail

sad thing it wasnt his fault, girl behind him thought it would be cool to squeeze to people through it, 2 cops on other side didnt think so... So one of them was goin to jail, wouldnt be nice for her to spend day in nyc jail so he went instead
you can get a pop up map at a newstand or anywhere and it has a map of manhatten w/ where stuff is and a subway map. it's great. i used mine so much i've memorized it.
