I don't get this infatuation with cell phones. I get a free one every year, it works, its got a camera that I never use, 500 features I never care about. Yay sweet, let's see how far I can thro...

yeah i agree. i want either a simple phone with a few phone features that i need, or a full PDA phone, because i like having a PDA.

i don't need all the frivolous text messaging extras, crazy speakers, SD storage, etc

I will be testing the VX-8300 out sometime this week... I will give you my opinion on the phone, so far I like the specs of it and for a simple yet up-to-date phone it should be good...

This phone has the speakers on the side and the Transflash storage port...
