Well, I spoke with the office manager. She said the attorney had already spoken to her about my snideness (no surprise there) but she was patient in listening to my side. I admitted that I did lose my cool and spoke more harshly than normal. Her suggestion was that I send an email to the attorney apologizing. I'm sure eventually I will do that, but I hate being the bigger person when this guy is nearly 60 and can't act like an adult. The office manager confirmed that he is in fact a jerk to everyone, and she's not surprised he freaked out because he's done it to her a number of times. She said she would hate to see me quit the picnic planning because she thinks I've been doing a good job. Whatever. Turn the other cheek, I guess.
