Shepherd pie has actual seasoning and lamb and vegetables - the above recipe sounds like a poor man's version thereof.

what! this sounds better than real shepherds pie?!? how could instant mashed potatos be better than the real thing?! and shepherds pie has all the yummy veggies in there, and it's usually made with chunks of lamb (or beef, or mutton) not ground anything.
