We had our convention this weekend too! I really liked the part when they gave really pointed counsel about not talking to disfellowshipped ones, even if they're part of your extended family. I've noticed lots of friends don't take that counsel too seriously, and hopefully that part will help. Some people don't even take it seriously when friends are reproved, and it's all discipline from Jehovah, so I'm glad that part brought that out.
What was your attendance? Ours was only like 1100-1500 - I guess because it was at the assembly hall they wanted to keep it small.
really? we had like close to 4000! at jersey city, it was tight but i liked it, saw a lot of people.
and i agree with you completely. when i turned 18 i made a decision to not talk to my dad, b.c i didnt live with him. i got a lot of slack for that, but that was my decision...and 6 months later he was reinstated (he had been df'd for like 6 years before that). now im not saying the reinstatement had to do completely with me not talking to him, but im sure it played a big role.
I love the interviews because it gives you real experiances, ya know, but we had some WEIRD ones. Kam, remember that girl that decided not to sing in the winter concert but thought it was okay to flip the pages of the piano player's music book? hahahha, so weird! She was like, "when i found out it was being televised, i realized that wasn't such a good idea". lol!
yeah. pretty weird.
