so last night Lauren and I went to look at some new apartments. Ours is ok, but we have to use the complex laundry mat and we have some odd neighbors. We looked at one SUPER CREEPY place in Para...
Honestly, i think that's a waste of money. You could get a cute little house with a mortgage of that price monthly, but at least then, you're money would be going into the equity of your home.
HAHAHAHA a fixer upper house in any town around us is somewhere near $300,000
zip is 07646. we'd like anywhere within a 10 mile radius of our zip, as long as it's not a scary town.
(thanks for backing me up giac - PA is a little different .... )
even if we did get a fixer upper, i'd have to spend $$ to fix it up ... that would make no sense. Plus time that could be used toward service/meetings/studies ...

If you really look into a fixer upper, it is kind of a headache, but worth the effort. You can put 10-20K into a house and have it be worth 50-60K more.
wow, thanks for that link.
it's a little too small (we def. need two bedrooms) but i'm going to use that tool some more ...
the question is, are you willing to commit to buying in this day and age. you have to worry about your mortgage, property taxes, the up-keep. ya know what i mean? im part owner on my house and if i didnt i would NEVER own. its so much money out the door. when a line busts its on me, when something is wrong with the pool, its on me. if something in the ceiling cracks its on me to fix....you see where im getting at?
yeah i am starting to regret buying. i need the freedom to move around or something.
i know what you mean. renting you really do have the "extra" fundage.
You know.... please stop pasting Coldwell and Century 21 all over the place. I need to make some money off of someone buying one of these days. Home Buyers/Sellers for any state and some Countries, Contact Me, will you.
Yeah its true, PA is a little different... In fact the closer you get to PA and farther you get from NYC it gets cheaper... I wonder why...
You're so annoying. PA is one of the most beautiful states in the country. It's close to Baltimore, DC, Philly. We have good schools, great value for houses, and a lot of work in many fields. Me & Austin have now bought, rented and sold 2 multi-unit homes, and we are on our 3rd. Think we could do that with houses at $300K? I doubt it. PA has been pretty good to us.
No you couldn't and Im not saying PA hasnt been good to you guys, but for those who have good paying jobs out here, where we couldnt get half that much living out in PA finding the fixer uppers for cheap doesnt come easily. PA is a great place to start when your newly married...
AND you cant compare Baltimore, DC and ESPECIALLY Philly to NYC...
AND you cant compare Baltimore, DC and ESPECIALLY Philly to NYC...
AMEN!!!!!
can't touch NYC
only problem with PA... Pennsylvanians...
