I bought a PS3 last night. Anyone else have one?

Everyone has Wii's? I wanted one, but they're sold out everywhere and Jake wanted the PS3.
I have neither. My last console was Super Nintendo.

My hand may be forced to get a Wii too. Emily is ticked that I got the PS3. These kids cost me too much money. LOL!
I think I'll trade in all the PS2 stuff and get credit towards a Wii. The guy at Gamestop said I could get $30 for a PS2 console. Plus I have about 20 games. Then I'd pay less than $200 for the Wii. Then both kids are happy and I'm the best dad in the world. Alright.... good plan. LOL!

no, dude, im pretty sure you can. i think it just depends on the game. whether or not it's compatible or whatever.
In the latest models, they are phasing out PS2 compatibility to reduce costs.
PS3 blows... at least the 360 is backwards compatible with the majority of its Xbox titles....
the PS3 is a very impressive system. It just needs more good games.
I guess your right... the way I see it, its currently a glorified BlueRay player...
Sony's site says the 40GB version, which I have, doesn't play PS2 games.
the new lower priced sku of PS3 is NOTTT backwards compatible.
Xbox 360 & Wii for me... The only way I would get a PS3 is when I start wanting to watch BlueRay movies, because in comparison with the 360 that's the only true advantage.
sometimes i think about getting a 360 but i dont' have time to play what i have, never mind another whole system ...

i dunno. i have guitar hero 3 and i never play it.
i'd rather learn to play actual guitar and push myself to learn songs i like as opposed to playing it in a video game.
Well, you will get to learn the drums in Rockband... Its extremely fun, and a GREAT party game...
the drums in rock band are nothing like real drums. that's insulting.

how are they not like real drums? because it's not a complete set? or because they're pads? or because it's a video game? or because mike's fat?
i don't understand how you can say that hitting pads with sticks and pressing a pedal with your feet to a specific beat/pattern is not at all like drumming.

i think it could help someone learn drums, and i think somebody that plays drums would automatically be better at it than someone who doesn't. that said, playing real drums is harder
......and gets you more ladies
yeah, i guess it's like drumming, i just don't think that if you mastered every song on the rockband drums the skills would carry over to the real drums.
It wouldnt at all, but its like a practice stage before trying the real thing...
btw, Rock Band has been announced for Wii
