ok. here's the difference. THEY ONLY FINE PEOPLE IN THE EZ-PASS BOOTHS.
I have blown through "exact change" booths (not that i am proud of this) and never gotten a ticket.
On another note...I would REALLY like to pretend that I "accidentally" went to a Cash lane, instead of a "exact change" lane, and throw the money at the person. hahaha
dude, i know...before i had ez-pass..i'd never put the 35 cents in the bucket..or i'd throw pennies in..(ya know to get rid of them) haha i've done this countless amounts of times..nothing happens..ever.
yep dad always proudly reads the sign it says "no pennies PLEASE" it doesn't say no pennies

i blew EZ-PASS, once, when it was fairly new, by accident. didn't get a ticket. but since--i've never accidentally gone thru it. i imagine they're much more rigid now. now, throwing change at the person in the CASH/RECIEPT lane is a very funny idea. i bet it'd totally catch them off gaurd. my friend jamie, always says crap to those poor people. stuff like "theres plenty more where that came from!" and "call me?" as he's pulling away. OR he puts on some silly 80's amber-vision shades and gives them a slack-jawed look. my favorite is pulling up to them with an eyepatch on. fun stuff.
i miss throwing the quarter out the passenger window, up and over the car.

now, the pike was that windy lever thing that they turned keep the engine going right?
no. it was a spiked pike (any SNL fans?) that blocked the road. the toll taker would have to lift and turn the pike (aka 'turnstile') so your car could go through. lemme see if i can find a pic.
