In PA, I don't have to pay tolls to drive on the highway. If Pennsylvanians had to pay to drive on our roads, we would all leave.
then what's with the pa turnpike, where i have to sell off a small child to afford the toll when heading west?
The turnpike doesn't count (its assumed that you have to pay). But besides that, we don't have anything like the GSP where you have to pay every mile.
Yeah.. but if you had the Key-Stone State Parkway you'd have to pay every mile probably.

when i went thru ez-pass this w/e...i went maybe..35mph thru..and i didnt see the "ez-pass paid" thing come up on the screen..am i gonna get sent a ticket!?? i thought it'd be able to catch it. oops.

been in florida for years now, guess they thought the old drivers were more experienced with going through tolls faster then people up here? I sure love goin through the verazano old toll plaza at like 40.

It's funny you post this thread. I was once told that, if you were to run a tole booth, w/out paying, that whole thing about getting a fine is a myth or something. A couple months back I somehow made a mistake & went into the wrong lane or something, didn't think anything would happen, but, the law's caught up w/me..Just got the fine in the mail....errrrr
y'know? i used to work for an inventory company and we'd roll to different places to audit every single day. my co-workers and i became ONE with the parkway. now i'm not a tough guy or anything, but we've blown hundreds of tolls, before the company finally got us EZ-pass, and we've never been snagged. i guess it's just chance.
ok. here's the difference. THEY ONLY FINE PEOPLE IN THE EZ-PASS BOOTHS.
I have blown through "exact change" booths (not that i am proud of this) and never gotten a ticket.
On another note...I would REALLY like to pretend that I "accidentally" went to a Cash lane, instead of a "exact change" lane, and throw the money at the person. hahaha
dude, i know...before i had ez-pass..i'd never put the 35 cents in the bucket..or i'd throw pennies in..(ya know to get rid of them) haha i've done this countless amounts of times..nothing happens..ever.

i blew EZ-PASS, once, when it was fairly new, by accident. didn't get a ticket. but since--i've never accidentally gone thru it. i imagine they're much more rigid now. now, throwing change at the person in the CASH/RECIEPT lane is a very funny idea. i bet it'd totally catch them off gaurd. my friend jamie, always says crap to those poor people. stuff like "theres plenty more where that came from!" and "call me?" as he's pulling away. OR he puts on some silly 80's amber-vision shades and gives them a slack-jawed look. my favorite is pulling up to them with an eyepatch on. fun stuff.

no. it was a spiked pike (any SNL fans?) that blocked the road. the toll taker would have to lift and turn the pike (aka 'turnstile') so your car could go through. lemme see if i can find a pic.
I definetly haven't gotten fined yet..I've never blown through a toll..I just never can get the money into that freakin basket!
seriously, i borrowed my parents car one time, and they got a letter reporting i had blown through an ez-pass booth at 41 mph instead of 5. the letter said that if it happened again, the ez-pass would be suspended indefinitely.
did they send you pictures of you in the car? they did that to my mom. scary.

bill actually did get his suspended, but that doesn't stop the rest of us (or probably him either)from still blowing thru @ 50mph anyway. what is the point of ezpass if you practicallly have to stop anyway (some schmos think 5mph=stop for 5 min)? i've thrown change into the bucket at higher speeds than that.
