I think this (not the macarena..worst song) deserves it's own thread. Then again, maybe the macarena DOES deserve it's own thread.

Cotton Eye Joe has forever been my favorite dance song. I used to make up my own dance for it..then I was taught the real version by Malibu. I also enjoy the cha-cha slide for some reason.

the electric slide might be the only dance to make it into the new system, EVERY FREAKING witness reception/anniversary part/congregation gathering, they milk the heck outa it like it's the best thing since sliced bread...You're right it is funny to watch though, especially when they're all unorganized and fall over eachother trying to kee in sync

yes, when considering possible adjectives for the electric slide, "gay", is quite possibly among the top 5...I think they all know it's gay too...but..the SECOND that song starts playing, they all fill the floor like brainwashed drones, the song like casts a spell on them...and they all got that big cheesey smile on their face the whole time, like they're the happiest they've ever been, haha

i love how there is always one person....who gets SO into it, that they like beat everyone else on the floor up...because if they miss a step...it'd be the worse thing in the world, so they just run all over everyone else
haha, yeah, I consider this electric slide craze to be the equivalent of a cult...it has way to much power over people to just be called a dance..
i did some research on the electric slide and it actually started out as a cult entrance ritual
