an IP is the address of your computer, so everytime you log in... say if you were using aol or something... just hypothetically... they assign you an ip address everytime you log in. Now, even thou...

wow...that's a complicated way to explain it..it's basically like a phone number, and caller ID. whoever you call, (or in this case, wherever you post) the number shows up.

sure, you can CHANGE the number, but the prefixes will always be the same...like, where i live, the first few digits of my phone number are 201-995 ...even if i use a different line in my house, it still has the same prefix.
