there's no scouring of the shire at all, it was never even filmed. chances are that it won't even be in the extended edition. pj didn't "like that part of the book". altho, saruman being remove...

..I just don't understand not liking that part of the book. If you read Tolkiens intro to the books you see that that is like the most important part. And even when Sam looked into Galadriel's mirror he saw part of the scouring on the shire, so how..I just don't understand. That just really brought everything together and I'm afraid I'm going to be very disapointed.

chances are they might show some things they didn't have time/money to shoot in a montage type sequence toward the end.
