i live ten minutes from the sawmill! i love that place and the Toasters are keen. how can i not support this ezabel event? and i'll bring locals.
I was thinking I'd like to go to this one and maybe the NY one as well. Driving out to Wilkes-barre last time was a pain!
well, i'm going to hit this one up regardless. choose wisely.
i'm looking...and i don't see this date anywhere else, but here. are you privy to the super secret toasters tour date page?
um..I find it off Pollstar. Hmm, maybe I should double-check with their site BUT they've been in Europe so they said they weren't updating the site for a while.
Hmm..the Sawmill site doesn't seem to have updated anything past December yet anyways.
hey lindz, are u really going? cuz i'm totally interested and would go to... i'll need to know by like end of january tho so i can get off from work...
Oh yeah..I'll most definetly go to this one. I don't like driving out to PA but I know the way to Seaside with my eyes closed!
YES!!! i heart seaside!!! i'm totally in!
This will be soooo much fun if we have a HUGE group. I'm lovin it!!
breifly describe to me this, Toaster band...I mean, i'll go...anything that lindsay likes..I too, will fancy...but..I wanna know what I'm in for
They're ska! I don't know what the Sawmill is size wise but when I saw them they were in a small cafe place..like the size of my downstairs living room with a raised platform (like a foot off the ground) serving as a stage. So it's a really small show but that makes it fun because it's kind of a more personal interaction. A big percentage of the place will probably turn into a skanking pit..which is fun! Um..but yeah you should really just download some of their stuff..they have a lot because they've been around for years and years!
yeah. they're a really dedicated and talented buncha guys. really fun music. nothing amazing. but the sounds is great and the guys really seem to play well together and have a great time.
I don't know..I wouldn't say "nothing amazing" I think they're one of the best, if not the best ska group out there. Also, despite the fact that they continually have members coming and going the sound stays fairly the same.
ohhh, wait! we're try to sell the toasters!? those toasters! well, they're the best band ever assembled! even better than mephiSKApheles and hepcat!
there we go..exactly
The best ska band! Agreed. I saw them at Maxwell's in Hoboken last year. They were amazzing!
I adore Sawmill pizza
i adore sawmill pizza...and you.
both my uncles worked there during the summer when they were 18-20. its fun to go there.
Okay, so i double checked this event and it's definetly on. While the Sawmill site and the Toaster site both do not have it up yet, Pollstar and Ticketmaster both have it and tickets are available for $10 on ticketmaster.com
SWEETNESS! i'll put in at work for the day off!!
i don't understand how the sawmill can be having them play there. the sawmill is like a bar. like every other part of the boardwalk where you can just walk in and order food. but i'll go!
you haven't seen the new SAWMILL. it's a bar, pizza place, a sit down resturant, a cafe, and upstairs is a swank new concert venue stage. the place is huge now!
Oh wow!! I'm so excited. That solves the problem of dinner! yay!
yes. yes, it does.
you were worrried about dinner? we could always eat at our most favoritest pizzaria. the flies weren't that bad this year.
It's just always a pain trying to drive somewhere further then an hour to see a show and trying to be there early and getting everyone together and eating.
if brian can pick me up i'll be there! woohoo sawmill pizza and an ezabel event combined into one night. life doesn't get any better.
So..Bryan asked me a few days ago but yeah..we should probably get tickets soon. Everyone for themselves!
I wanted to go but I have to work the next morning at 7:45. Darn.
good idea... i'll get my tickets this weekend after i get paid... your DEF going right?
Most definetly! Wild horses (so very common in Denville NJ) couldn't stop me!
very cool! i can't wait!
wild horses . . . haha, a sundays song . . . they couldn't drag me away . . . what a sappy song . . .
Okay, so I bought my tickets and Bryan said he bought his. So I check out the Toasters website today and they finally posted this date on the shows page. It also says 18 on it. This is a problem, cause I bought my 17 year old sister a ticket and Julie a ticket and she's 16 (right?). When I bought them on ticketmaster they didn't state any age limit AND when I checked the site that has info on the place they didn't stay any age limit either. So, what is to be done?
Leave them at home and sell me the tickets because i didn't get mine yet.
Well, you've been to the sawmill, do you know if they actually check age? Is there any way you could find out easily since you live right there?
unfortunately, they are HARDCORE ID checkers. i brought my sister there and they gave us a real hard time about just EATING there! let alone going to the venue upstairs. doesn't look good.
BUT! because i like you guys--i'll go there and see if i know anyone or of me going early and talkin' to them will get the youngins' in. but there's always cops around and i'm sure they don't want to lose their newly acquired upstairs club liquor license. it might be a dead NO. that happened to Birchill! lil punk kids weaseled their way in, got drunk, and now they can't serve liquor anymore. that place used to rock too.
That would be so awesome and very much appreciated. But the thing I don't understand is that the age limit is 18, not 21. So, I don't understand if they're worried about drinking why make it only 18? I'm also going to call the number they have for the local ticketmaster box office (I think that is what it's for) and see if the age limit is definetly 18 because ticketmaster.com definetly doesn't say anything about that.
we can sneak'm in in a bowling ball bag..a really large one
and what happens if they can't get it? i'm certainly not driving them home. They can't just sit in the car either! Find out if it is actully in fact 18 and over and we can just find 3 more people to go with us
Bah! They can walk around the boardwalk for a while.
um, are you serious?
Haha no of course not! heh..yeah. Just hand them some heat and send them on their way!
Okay, so I just called the sawmill and it was all voice recording. They didn't have a thing on for the Toasters yet but they did have other events there that are all ages so I can always try again later or someone else can if they want to.
Melody and I both called today and at first they had changed the age to 21 but when I called the guy said definetly 18 so anyone over 18 should have no problem getting in. That leaves us with three people who aren't 18 yet and their tickets. Brian how many tickets did you want?
bring all o'em. i'll have peeps.
I have one extra...how many extras are there, beside mine
"That leaves us with three people who aren't 18 yet and their tickets." Dork. :)
wuchoo callin me a dork for?..am i supposed to just KNOW these things?!?!..lol, i didn't know who got how many or anything...that's it!..i'm not buying u a pony anymore
Aw I'm sorry Bryan! Please still buy me a pony.
I have two extra tickets now, Julie's and my sister's and you have one extra for Jewy.
i tried explaining this to him.. but he kept thinking that Jewy and Julie were the same person and therefore did not understand what i was saying
it sounded like u were sayin "jewy and jewy"
haha y would i say it two times?!? tht makes no sense richard!
and you've never said anything before that didn't make sense??!!
sweeeeeet! , you cant do that in instant messages though, right?
to do it in instant messanger, go to accessories, system tools, and then go to the "character map" program....every text character you've ever dreamed of is located there
start menu - accessories - system tools - character map - bada bing
hah but thats not in AIM which is why we were all confused!
How much for a ticket? I might be interested.
$10..the problem is I may not get there until after the doors open so I donno if anyone's gonna want to actually wait to get tickets from me if there are tickets left at the place. If you don't mind I have 2 and Bryan has 1.
I'm gonna eZ-msg you.
